Oh Kat, hope you are managing to get some sleep now, you are going to be sooo tired otherwise! Hope the roads are OK - no snow here but very very cold.
I keep waking up on a Saturday morning at 6.45am, my normal getting up time. Then I am wide awake and cant get back to sleep. As a result I am really tired now.
So a SFD today. We have been talking holidays again. I know we can "afford" a weeks camping somewhere but I am really not that enthusiastic - would rather pay the money off the cards. Just goes to show how much I have changed! If we are going to go away in the school holidays and get a decent campsite we need to make a decision and get something booked. Might have a browse around now.0 -
Hey all...
Checking in with a SFD <finally!>
Going well at the gym although not got my induction until Wednesday - but have been going and doing some CV stuff for at least 30 minutes...
Have got rid of all bad food in my house and switched stuff over to healthier options. It feels I'm simplifying my life in many ways... streamlining my diet and getting into good exercise habits.
Hope everyone is having an ok weekend⭐ DEBT FREE : 18/02/2025 ⭐

A late check-in for me today. I'm counting it as a SFD - I made money by selling some DVDs but promptly spent it on drinks in the pub. Came home when we'd spent that so no actual spending involved.
Things are looking up on the car front - found another (nicer) C1, fingers crossed this one works out.:rudolf: DF by Xmas 2018: #83 £8,250/£15,000 55% :rudolf:

Ok, so a bit of a spendy day today. Dd1 was complaining about lack of snacks in and so I went to lidl and replenished the cupboards a bit. I have never been one to have lots of snacks in but this week has been particularly sparse - always plenty of real food in but snacks are important too!
Also was up early and as laptop has died I have purchased a cheapish tablet - very excited and its on 30 day return so if not happy can send it back. It's important to me to have Internet as its used for homework research, keeping in touch etc. in my view its both a need and want and as I can't afford to replace laptop so this is a happy compromise. I always buy myself a birthday present (I know some on here would think that ridiculous but for years I had no one significant in my life and I don't really buy for me any other time except January sales) so instead of a kindle I have got this and it also has a kindle app - win win!
NSK - I did not budget for this but my expenses are confirmed to be in this pay day so I will put the money back into my reserve funds from this and as I never know if expenses will be paid I never include the reimbursement. I just treat expenses as part of my budget then when reimbursed I use it as needed. I intend in the future to overpay debts.
I realise I have probably over justified but more to myself really - took all day to make a decision. Again another break through as before I would have bought the laptop I wanted using credit if I needed to!Happiness is wanting what you have...0 -
Evening everyone, hope you're all enjoying the weekend! I hope the weather's not been too brutal for you. I used it as an excuse to have a long lie and not do a lot
I planned to go to a yoga class this morning but my weather app told me there was snow in London so I rolled over and went back to sleep! It was fab!!! Day 1 of my staycation and all I did was a spot of batch cooking and had a bit of a clean up so no yoga, no venturing out and best of all, no spending!!
I spent the evening doing the Earth Hour lights off so I watched the live McFly concert on my laptop with a hot water bottle and candles
Yuck about the not sleeping kat. I work shifts and have to try and "bank" some sleep before a nightshift and it's soooo frustrating knowing that mid-shift you'll be struggling to keep your eyes open. Somehow though, you always get through it and live to see another day. Hope you're not too tired!
Off to the Vitality show tomorrow. Packed lunch made and in the fridge (hope I remember it). I'm looking forward to it. I have £15.90 left in my misc budget but I'm going to try and spend nothing as I have another 5 days til payday (and technically another 8 days of this challenge...ooh, I just realised that if I spend nothing til April I could make the 25 SFD target!!).
So, my MFF figures look like:
SFD = 17
Food Spends = £49.19/£50
Petrol Spends = £50/£50
Misc Spends = £84.10/£100
Money made = £134.74/£1000 -
Well now, bet you thought I'd croaked it on the way into work didn't you. Got no sleep. None whatsoever. Could not get to sleep at all. Puddy-tat ran around like a lunatic, pawing at the mirror or scratching the bed (BAD CAT!).. then she has this habit of getting on my bed and staring at me, with big round black eyes and I know full well that if she isn't out to smack me on the head with her paw, she will pounce and bite. Don't know how she learnt this, makes me guffaw when she does but doesn't half scare the living daylights out of me... I know to usually cover my head and I thwarted her moggy antics tonight...
I get the attack of the munchies on a night shift so needed to be super prepared. I was aiming for an SFD but thought it best to be PREPARED than caught short...
So... trudge down to the Tesco Express. for £4.08.. I got the following...- two loaves of thick sliced bread = £0.15p each,
- two tubs of fruit = £0.14p each,
- 1 Litre of Pepsi Max,
- a large bottle of milk,
- pesto and pine nut tub for tonight = £0.22p,
- tomato and cheese pasta tub for tomorrow = £0.15p,
- 6 packets of crisps = £1.04
I am happy with my purchases. I think I will be going there at night more often! Anyway - I am researching more bits for my birthday - inbetween a bit of work - and looking at hot men in my office.

NinjaSavingKat wrote: »Now a thing with the pepsi. It was on a special shelf as the end of the aisle as a "special offer" - buy two for £2 or on their own @ £1.59. But if you look at the shelf where all the other drinks were they were on offer on their own for £1 each. Are Tesco's hoping no-one will notice?.. Bit odd.
Did it scan at £1.00? If it scanned at £1.59, Tesco refund double the difference if you're overcharged at the till -that would be niceGreat finds by the way...you couldn't even make the pasta salads for that price!
You're halfway through your shift now...not long to go0 -
Helllo Siousxie Q.... Nope it went through at £1. Don't worry though I grabbed all the receipts at the till. Yes I can't believe how fast this shift is going - half a bottle of pepsi max gone though. Are you on nights as well?? Or watching weird early morning movies?
I wanted to say on my other thread but shall add it here a big well done on getting rid of one more debt!! I like my little mountain quote too.. I think I might use it here as well...

There - now I have shared!...lol!“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent.
