Watching SuperScrimpers and the lady on it that hammers it home to people what they are wasting their money on just mentioned how important pet insurance is. Which I don't have.... I also want to feed my moggy better and have researched Orijen dry cat food. More expensive ( £24 for 7kg ) but apparently as its all meat based and no by-products like wheat so they feel fuller quicker and eat less...
I am moving to a smaller house.. the cat needs to smell good as my I am not sure where the litter tray will be so it's Catsan litter instead of Co-op litter... £70 for all her jabs as they are over due, £10 to change the address on her micro-chip, a new climbing frame as her now 2-year old one is shredded and a few new toys to keep her amused in the new house...
Best litter is Cats Best, it clumps really well; doesn't track very much; doesn't smell very much; and because it clumps so well you only lift out the wet splodge. 30l for 2 cats has lasted me since end of January so two months. I've just ordered a 40l one for £24.99 from Z00plus! who are amazing by the way!
Chloe (siamese) only eats dry food, so she has Orijen. We put down a white plastic party cup worth each day and she eats that as and when she chooses. Leo nibbles it every now and then too. However, I have read that it's really bad for the cat to have a solely dry food diet. They descend from desert animals so it's not natural for them to drink water, they tend to get it soley from their food so it's not recommended. Chloe doesn't touch any wet though so I have no choice.
Leo on the other hand is a gannet and eats everything, prawn crackers, bread, the OHs last doughnut!!! I've been feeding him Natures M3nu, which is pouches. But I'm also going to switch him to a Swedish one I recently came across beginning with B on Z00plus. It's 340g tetra packs (so 1 a day for leo) and you can buy 24 for £20 with free shipping (well 50p for parcel force so you can pick it up from the post office). They even do Elk flavour!
If you order in bulk then you get a 5% discount on spends over £75, they have loyalty points as well and an introductory offer. P.s I don't work for them by the way. Anyway, cheapest I've found so far and the bengal forum recommended the Swedish people as it's 93% meat with no derivatives and no carbsI shall report back with how they get on with it.

Oooooh Kerri get you with all that information! I am glad I am on track with Orijen though as the guy that sits beside me at work ( who's girlfriend is a vet nurse ) has never heard of it and neither has she. I will be supplementing Dorothys diet with a wet pouch once a day - but these again have to be superbly researched.
Keep me posted on how your Kitties get along with Swedish pouches ( what name is it? ) and I might try them on Dorothy. I am just very super conscious on how clean the new house is that I am moving too. I need to ensure minimum smell etc so Orijen was the best choice but am aware if the meat isn't a good quality one it can cause a moggy to smell really bad as supermarket own brand currently do...
Glad you recommended a cat litter. Catsan is not cheap so I just checked yours on Amazon and added it to my wish list..£18.99 for 15kg ..? 100% organic - is that the right one? (Okoplus?)..
SFD yesterday and hopefully today - [STRIKE]I might just sit and watch my colleagues eat their breakfast as its ANOTHER leaving breakfast shortly but I have already had my porridge...[/STRIKE] Cancelled!!! :j
£22.50 set aside for sunbeds to sort my skin out prior to my holiday. I don't use them more than once a year to dry up my skin... even the Dr recommended it but don't worry I am sensible...( still and SFD right?)..
I have an item on eBay up to £1.20 now, 2 watcher's for my vintage £100 sewing machine and 1 watcher for my £65 vintage dress.... Fingers Crossed!!

Thanks for the tips on cat litter. I think we're using false economy by buying the cheap Lidl stuff that is really dusty, needs changing daily and doesn't trap smell well. Off to ZOOplus to have a look for clumping litter.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250

I'm having a slow start to the day but the majority of things I listed on fleabay this weekend are sellingincluding some boots with tags on woohoo.
Even better news, OH went for an interview on Friday and they've asked him back to give a presentation on Monday. Which is FANruddyTASTIC :T:T:T:T:T his dissertation is in today so if he nails this presentation on Monday we won't have to worry about money when he finishes uni. He's likely to get a good starting salary too, although he will have to commute from Cardiff to Bristol each day but meh!Diary: Getting back on track for 2013 and beyondDEBT FREE 13-10-13 :dance::dance::dance::dance:

Ordered some of that cat litter as we're running low anyway. Can't wait to get rid of the smell and dust (which I notice a lot more now being off the fags, and the cat gets older and doesn't go out much anymore and gets bullied by some cats in our new area - although I think Charlie "just wants to play"
). Got 5% of for signing up for their newsletter and still had £1.46 left in my paypal account, so only paid £22
It's more expensive per litre (2-3x) but then I only scoop out the used bit rather than changing the whole tray every day.
EDIT:
Doh, just realised I ruined a NSD . Should've waited till Saturday.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -
Hi everyone, all this talk of puddie cats makes me very jealous. Ive always had dogs and cats since my early 20's upto a few years ago, when the last dog died. At one time I had 3 cats and 2 dogs and enjoyed looking after them all and luckily for me they didnt seem to get ill very often and most died of old age, two of the cats were in their 20's
and the dogs were all in their late teens:) but then the dd's left home and I worked full time and as they died I didnt replace them, until DD1 bought me Rosie for my last birthday:):) and shes no bother at all, but can be very noisey when she wants a fuss, food or more food:)
shes kept outside and often when I go to the back door, I reckon she can see me and starts squeaking so loudly:)
Anyway NSD for me today, but yesterday wasnt, I did my bit of food shopping for the week after work, unpacked it and found Id forgotton my milk, so will have to get some of that in a couple of days, not sure if I will get all the SFD's in this month, usually I dont have too much of a problem but this month:o
Just read my meters:
Electric used 28 so down 2 units
Gas used 3 so down 3un its
The gas I can understand as for the last couple of days I havent had the heating on all, cos by the time Ive got in from work, been visiting my DD's and friends it hasnt been worth putting it on when Ive got in, cos its been too near bed time, and thinking about it thats why the electric is down as well, just signed up for a cheaper tariff but will keep to the same DD each month to build a bit of a cushion up, incase we have another wet cold summer:(
Anyway got a couple of days off, WM just finished and hoover is waiting for me to switch it on, so better go and get on with it - think I will finish my coffee first though
Jxx

Hello all.
Not had chance to catch up with you all yet.
Saturday's shopping trip cost £44 in all, more than I was planning but I bought far too much meat at the butchers so that should last us 2 weeks. I'm used to just looking at SM packaged meat and thinking "that looks enough" so when I have to ask for it by weight at the butchers...
Went out for a few drink Saturday evening and yesterday was my planned meal out with a friend. Still got £12 left out of the £100 weekly budget and I have put a few quids worth of change in the savings jar. Not doing well on SFDs but sticking under budget0 -
Afternoon all,
Well ended up doing the shopping myself - that'll teach me - forgot we had DD parents evening after school tonight so no chance for DH to go shopping and we need some of the grub for tomorrow. Hey ho:D
Have updated the totals. Also spent £26.20 of Aprils food budget to get my £12 of cash back from Mr S- I'm going to include the total cost of the food bought and put the discount into my squirreling pot. Hope that makes sense - it does to me - I think!
The fleabay return arrived back today - oops me the shoes were size 6 - have issued the refund and updated my totals with this and taken off my fleabay fees - a bit depressing but a real figure which is good
However, the lovely lady I bought my DS birthday pressie from has chucked in a free helicopter apparently - will wait until the parcel "lands" - this is slightly off set by the fact I bought what I suspect is the same thing on another auction.if it is then one of them will be flying back onto fleabay again!!
Kerri - your cat sounds worse than my kids when they were potty training - DS most comedy moment was shouting in a loud voice "Mummy I need a poo" when I was on a call to HMRC for work - in fairness he could not have timed it better! :rotfl::rotfl: Thankfully we have a garden and a cat flap - no cat litter needed! (for the cat that is - not the kids)..... honest!
Right had best do some work - love to all
LAGL xxDebt free on the 28/05/130 -
I have a catflap and still need cat litter as one cat will actually come in to do her bizz, scratch at the wall til we bag it up then pop off back outside to play.
I use a low dust one from Mr T's which does the job fine.
I also have a wowley cat but the vet says he's just an attention seeking pain in the bum (I've added the pain in the bum part of the diagnosis:D) because as soon as you call out to him/pick him up/stroke him, he stops.
I also have a bullied cat who's on chill pills at the moment. I keep telling myself they're still cheaper than kids :rotfl:
Kerri - hope OH gets the jobs
Jonesy - Well done on taking the leap to a new job, it's not always an easy decision to make.
NicNocs -glad you've had kitty diagnosed, don't envy you giving her injections - think I'd have to get DH to do it if I were in that situation as I'm a wuss around needles.0 -
Our two are baby training for the OH
especially given that they wake us up at 6am *yawn*
