Thanks to everyone enquiring regarding the job. Spoke to my future boss and we are working towards a projected start date of April 8th. I was very brave (for me) and asked about pay package. I danced around it a bit asking if exams have any impact or if its an annual review - future boss replied in general its annual but if after 3 months i'm doing well, it could happen then! Here's hoping.

Nicnocs - yep sorry Wowly meant Ultra Meowy - apparently one of the things about the thyroid thing is a very vocal cat - this is way more than average and will if remaining untreated drive you nuts long before the cat!! Its way beyond a basic meow!!
I just wanted to say a public thank you to LAGL for replying to my "wowly" query. As a result, it prompted me to take my cat to the vet this morning and she has been diagnosed as diabetic. She's been drinking water like there's no tomorrow, and meowing at us a lot (which is what initially piqued my interest in your original post) - so I thought it might be worth seeing if her thyroid might be over active. Turns out it's a lot more serious than that, and we're now learning how to inject a crotchety old lady cat twice a day! The bill for this discovery.....£114 so far, but we've yet to get all the insulin etc so this is going to jump up. Never mind - she's worth it.
So, thank you again LAGL, and everyone else for all your posts that I love reading daily...and you never know what nugget of information will end up being life saving0 -
Nicnocs sorry to hear your kitty has diabetes but fabulous news that you picked up on it from a thread on money saving!!!
I was gonna declare a sfd today then realised that i bought a cup of coffee whilst waiting for a bank appointment today. On the plus side i have opened an isa to pay my emergency fund into. This is good cos it will stop me dipping in when i overspend!

Sorry to hear that your cat has been diagnosed with diabetes, poor thing, but great that you got her sorted pronto. My cat was diagnosed about 2-3 years ago, so i'd be happy to share some pointers if you ever need any tips.Halifax CC All paid Mort £7669.99,Car loan 31 months to go

Oh NicNocs your poor little puddy-tat! Mine is stretched out on my knee making it very difficult to type!
Watching SuperScrimpers and the lady on it that hammers it home to people what they are wasting their money on just mentioned how important pet insurance is. Which I don't have.... I also want to feed my moggy better and have researched Orijen dry cat food. More expensive ( £24 for 7kg ) but apparently as its all meat based and no by-products like wheat so they feel fuller quicker and eat less...
I am moving to a smaller house.. the cat needs to smell good as my I am not sure where the litter tray will be so it's Catsan litter instead of Co-op litter... £70 for all her jabs as they are over due, £10 to change the address on her micro-chip, a new climbing frame as her now 2-year old one is shredded and a few new toys to keep her amused in the new house...
Which reminds me I need to also sort the motorbike out before I pour money onto the debts in May. That bike is my lively-hood...£60 = break pads, £170 = tyres, £80 (ish) = service.. and everything else that pops up everytime I go in there...( I do trust them though ).
Overtime confirmed now for the next two weekens. Confirmation came through in full towards the end of the day! This makes me feel better about the three weekends I have off in April...
Right then...SFD for me...roped into ANOTHER leaving breakfast tomorrow. Might just get something small....**GRRR**..
Onwards and Upwards ...“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent".0 -

Thank you so, so much.I've got a half hour appointment with vet tomorrow morning to talk through it all, so I'm sure you might find a PM or two from me over the next few weeks while we get used to it all!

Right - off back to the sewing machine.... modifying a duvet cover with the bottom of some Thomas curtains I was given - they were way too long for our icle windows so am playing nicely with the left overs - heading for a pillow case and at least one cushion cover.
