I'm in the same camp as thirtylass. We generally tend to split the bill based on roughly what we've had. Everyone just rounds up their bits to make the maths easier and that takes care of the tip too usually.
I know what you mean though, i feel there's only so many times i can say "can we do a cheapie night because of xyz" without being embarassed.:rudolf: DF by Xmas 2018: #83 £8,250/£15,000 55% :rudolf:

I'm perfectly happy to do that when I'm with work colleagues or someone I don't know very well, but with close(ish) friends I find it really difficult to suggest it. The bill usually gets split between 2 or 3 or whatever, even when they've had wine/desert etc. They don't mean anything bad by it. In fact, I'm sure the don't think about it at all. I think I feel too embarrassed, or maybe I don't want them to know money's tight. Of course, with my closest friends it's easy - they'd always suggest a coffee at home or a home cooked meal0

Evening all. Didn't leave the house today so another SFD. Can't remember if that's 12 or 13 so will check diary in the morning. Hope it's 12 or else I have only one SD left this month! Hope everyone has a good week debt busting.MFIT -T5 #420

Another 2 sfd's over the weekend. Need milk and a few bits today but shouldn't spend too much.
Have a great Monday!0 -
Updated my signature and i am totally over budget and only up to NSD 11, but going through my numbers I still managed to put away £491 of which £106 were to pay back DS account. Although £250 of this are still with hubby as he borrowed of me. However that is not that impressive considering that £150 were payback from nursery and there are still two weeks to go. However, the next 5 days WILL be NSD and CB gets paid on Monday.
And got another one of those " i bought your ebay item (not paid yet!), can I pick it up?" No you should have asked before buying and agreeing to postage. NumptyDEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -
Morning Chickadees...
Siouxsie - your question is first on my list! I have a real problem splitting a bill. I usually sneak off ( back in the days of actually going out ) and paying my bill at the till OR asking the waitress to put mine on a seperate tab. I will not pay for other people alcohol, or meat. My friends AND colleagues are great about this though.
Epic sandwich making session this morning....yellow sticker bread, yellow sticker onions, yellow sticker roket, halloumi (with voucher for 60p off), salad cream from Approved Foods (about 39p) and I am a happy NSK. Tesco yoghurt - 33p for 4 ( Yummy ) and crisps ( £1.04 for 6 ), Pepsi maz (£1.59 for 6 - making them around 25p each )- RESULT!!! Thats the week sorted!
Planning for April already.. Holiday, Beauty Prep, Vintage Tea Birthday Party, Brother Visiting and Moving house. Phew! Fun though - I get to make another spreadsheet...lol!
Last night I got no-where making a fun invitation. Stupid Microsoft Office.... I will try again tonight. Trying to justify sending more books to my mother ( heavier this time that the last £12.30 package )... awaiting the confirmation of my Amazon order and whether to buy a watch for myself for my birthday when all donations are collated...:rotfl:..or spend it on bits for my Tea Party...?
Approved Food order created for party bags. Thinking twice about it though. £30 of junk food for "Retro Sweet" party bags for adults...:)...I shall have a think about this one but you know how they disappear..
Anyway.. I gotta plan more...
Onwards and Upwards!!..“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent".0 -

I will PM you both about it. Can't guarantee it's fool proof, but it'll give you an idea of how my brain is organising things!
Checking in after the weekend visitng BF in London. Did quite well on not spending, but then he paid for most things. This is mostly down to the fact that he doesn't cook for himself, so there's not much in the house for me to work with and thus we end up going out, and he pays because he knows I have no money, but then I feel bad because I've been brought up to be fair and split bills etc.
So managed not to spend (although felt guilty about him apying) for Friday and Saturday. Yesterday a friedn was down from Edinburgh for a hen do, and so we went out to lunch. It was aplanned social thing, so I paid for me and BF. Total taken off my "travel" fund as have maxed out the "spends" already.
Today will be a NSD as will most of the week.
Hope everybody is having a good Monday!

Never think that! I don't know how old you are, but my mum retrained ACA, started at 45. Took a while and she had to do resits, failing by a few marks, but she made it through sheer bl**dy mindedness!
I've seen several people do finace qualifications (ACA,ACCA, CIMA etc.) and I think they're the WORST exams for trying to fail you. They look horrible and I take my hat of to anybody who's even tried to do them.Total debt: [STRIKE]£9473.62[/STRIKE] £7,384.87 22% PAIDTAF #25 NSD 8/12 | Food £43.45/£50 | eBay 0/20 | Exercise 5/18:T Proud to be Dealing with my Debt :TDFD: June 20150 -
