LAGL - the study and commute to the college would be paid for. Just not my normal daily commute. I need to ring them tomorrow to discuss the information they sent me - I might bring up if pay grades are reassessed after exams. This seems a fair way of doing things as they would benefit from my increased skills and the next set of exams would be in 6 months.
NSK - i've decided to accept the job. They just need to do checks and iron out terms etc. I only need to give a weeks notice to my current job so i wont be saying anything until everything is sorted. It does however mean i need a car. And I havent saved for it yet. Oops.
If i do need finance (95% likely), i am going to do it as smartly as possible. Off to research options now. Bit gutted that if i do go down the finance route i wont be debt free by this christmashowever it has strangely made me more determined then ever. Another SFD today.

Good afternoon everyone  Happy St Patrick's Day kat (and everyone else of an Irish persuasion). I can't find a leprechaun smiley so here's a wee green smiley face instead
Been busy working and not spending (hurrah!) over the last few days but I did venture out in the rain this afternoon to do a SM shop and virtually blew the rest of my monthly budget. Should be okay though as we're almost (?) two thirds of the way through the month and I bought enough food to more or less keep me going. I may have to dip into somewhere else (penny jar?) to top up towards the end of March but I've done not badly - may have to increase the budget to £60 next month to give me a bit of leeway.
Otherwise, no money in/no money out!
It's another free listing weekend on ebay so I'm plotting another assault on that for later tonight. I found that my items don't do so well on free listing weekends - maybe there are too many other similar listings? Who knows, but I'll relist anything that doesn't sell tonight (most things by the looks of it!) and maybe add a few others.
I have a £5 Pizza Express voucher which I was tempted to use last night for a takeaway, but thought better of it. I didn't need a pizza and I saved myself spending the extra few pounds. That said, it's an electronic voucher so if anybody else would like it (it's valid til Friday 22 March), just PM me your email address and I'll forward it on to you.
So, here's my March figures to date....
SFD = 11 (Hmm, that's not so good is it?)
Food Spends = £49.19/£50
Petrol Spends = £50/£50
Misc Spends = £75.90/£100
Money made = £95.74/£1000 -
Evening all,
Been a spendy day here as we went to a 'Lambing Sunday' at Bicton College. Was a lovely family day out cuddling and feeding all the newborn baby lambs, seeing the piglets and calves, riding on tractors, watching the dog agility, etc... Was so good to spend some time as a family and although it cost £15 for us all to get in there aren't many places you can go as a family of 6 for £15 now!!! Took our own picnic so spent nothing while we were there. Was realy therapy for us all just to be out together in the sunshine.
Now getting everything ready for next week at school - baths, packed lunches, homework and reading, my last minute lesson plans and laminating for lesson observation tomorrow whilst at the same time cooking a roast (not lamb!!!!!, or pork, or beef!!!!! - didn't hold any baby chicks today so chicken I'm afraid!!!!).
Budgets are looking blown all over the place but will still be able to knock a good chunk off ccs this monthand already planning for how can tighten up on budgets next month.
Hope you've all had a lovely weekend!!!

Just checking in, oh so tired!!! Night out last night, spent the grand total of £10 as I agreed to drive everyone home so they bought me my drinks all night!
Our sons last footie game of the season today. At the end all the parents were making plans to go to McDonalds and we just couldnt say no without seeming really miserable. £17 I hadnt planned to spend which is annoying but sometimes thats just the way it is. Need to update the spreadsheets tomorrow as I am too tired tonight. All I know is that I need to be really frugal for the next couple of weeks!0 -
I've made puff pastry apple and raison (and cinnamon ) thingys... and I am about to have one in the bath! (on a plate of course)..:rotfl:..updates soon!!“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Actually Yorkshirelass, that's a point that's been going around my head recently. Abundant, you mentioned peer pressure too. How does everyone else get around that whole 'getting swept along with events and spending more than you would like' type of moment'? I'm generally okay at saying no or asking to split the bill, but sometimes when I'm out with friends we end up going to a restaurant that's pricier than I would have chosen, or we end up ordering wine/coffee/desert etc so the bill is more than I had budgeted for. Any ideas anyone? In theory it's easy to say no, but I find that when I'm in the moment it's a bit more difficult.

Ooh, I'm jealous! I bought loads today with the intention of batch cooking and freezing but, well I got a bit side tracked and I'm having porridge for dinner insteadWould love a pastry thing...would also love a bath but alas, I only have a shower! Porridge in the shower is not really the same thing is it?

Just a quick update then I'll catch up on the posts. Had another spend day. My my...Just down to bad planning and not checking in one go what is needed. However, it was all just necessities and I used vouchers and deals were possible (and only for stuff we really needed). Also needed a new bikelock and the bargain of the month for me were three fruit bushes (rasberry, goose berry, black berry, from LIDL) for the garden for just £5, which will help in future years with costs as soft fruit are really dear. Next week I'll definitely have 5 NSDs in a row as I also stocked up on milk and bread flour (the two things that bring me most likely to the shops). Also cancelled the milkman now as Lidl is so much cheaper.Kept all the receipts and will update my spreadsheets and signature tomorrow.
Made £54 on ebay (one item went from 5 to £25 pounds - bought for 10 Euro in an anitique shop as a gift years ago, one didn't sell but someone inquired afterwards and I stuck it back on as buy it now for more and he took itAnd relisted everything that didn't sell.
Was planning on cycling next week again, but it's chucking it down and they forecast heavy snow for Tuesday

Not that I've been out in a whilebut we used to split the bill most times in way that everyone put in roughly what they had. So that if I don't drink or have desert I don't pay for other's. We also split it evenly but only if everyone had the same.
