Afternoon all,
Another NSD here - made some fleabay sales yesterday and all but "the one" have paid - there is always one!!
Becky Boo - Bictons lambing day sounds fab - will try and remember it next year. The kids are desperate to go to Pennywell again but its so expensive! Our other fave cheap day out is the national fireworks championships down at Plymouth - totally free awesome fireworks!
Anyway - achieved another NSD today - not sure that I can have one of those tomorrow - sending DH off with a list so I suspect I have to take that one on the chin!
Will update the sig when all fleabayers have coughed up - forgot fleabay fees - £30 for me as I did a load in Feb too! Still hoping to be over the £100 hurdle but it will be close I think
Am wondering if we should have a survey of how many half/part/almost qualified accountants are on here - will stick my hand up for that (ACCA). :T. I'm really good with other peoples money - honest!!
Anyway - work to do,

Afternoon all!
Sorry I didn't check in at the weekend, had a bit of a mad one. With that also came a few spends.... but I'm still on track for the month.... just!
So, to fess up! We pulled down the cases to go through the summer stuff ready for the jollydays (am counting down the hours, and have almost paid it off now!) and discovered that we had forgotten that BOTH cases were busted. The bith died last time we used them, almost 2 years ago! Cue a lot of fretting, a lot of asking to borrow (seriously, how tight are people with lending out a suitcase? I don't get it!) and then a lot of research into cheapo jobs. One trip to argos later, we ended up with 2 big ones and 2 cabin ones, blue and pink, for a total of £50. Massive amount of money but in comparison to the others we saw, dead cheap. Holy mother whoever knew suitcases were so blinking expensive!!! Hoping these will last, and by the looks of the reviews they may do us for a good few years as we're not frequent travellers.
Had a huge run yesterday (23 miles!), managed to stay dry ish for the first 2 thirds, then it tipped down. I discovered how waterproof my water proof is. Which is not at all. Got home soaked through, frozen to the bone, aching like hell and miserable as sin. We had a take away.
I'm going to the naughty step.
So we're on damage limitation now for the remainder of the month. Socks are pulled up. A night out has been turned down. I'm clicking furiously for more vouchers on swagbucks and dooyoo (Anyone else on dooyoo? Check it out if not, i love it, amazing) and just trying to pull it all in for the end of the month.
Le sigh. Onwards and upwards.0 -

13th and 14th of August - we went for the champion of champions year - you stand up on the Hoe and watch them go off - I have never seen fireworks like it - stars going up inside circles - it's amazing!

Mayfair - what a weekend you have had. Can you tell me the descriptions of the cases you got as I need to replace mine too. The ones I have are way too heavy when they are empty and the handles are broke. I was going to hit TK Maxx but you are looking at £50 EACH! I know exactly what you mean regarding the lending or borrowing of them - for crying out loud their not made of gold-dust. Expecially when people know you are on a much needed break anyway and need to save money.
I will let you off the take away since you ran 23 miles??? I'd have died around mile 2. I shall confess then aswell. In prep for my upcoming birthday I have just place an order with Approved Foods for £43.. This has been paid using eBay funds and not on CC or anywhere else. I need to plan ahead with them as the items disappear so fast and there were som MASSIVE bargains for my party. I want to send people away with retro goody bags so the cheaper the better!
LAGL I think I will keep an eye open for that. I hav a friend in Plymouth who's baby I have only met once. This sounds like a SUPERB get together!“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. NSk - Oooooh! What did you get for your party bags!! I love a party bag
They are the go explore ones on the argos website. be a bit careful though, the big one isn't huge. I think it's going to be big enough for me (Now I have a kindle and win't pack 10 books) but I'm not a massive packer. If you do get them, the box is the size of the case so you'll know straight away if it'll do. And they don't expand. We went into TX max and aside from one in the reduced section because it had marks on it, they were all over £50. Mortified!!!
And yes, 23, that wasn't a typo lol0 -
Sounds Silly but Sportsdirect have some very good cheap cases - or at least they do in Leicester.0
