nannygladys, posting that kind of thing is very brave, you should be proud of yourself.
Somebody at work is retiring, and the leaving collection came round. I contributed because the individual in question mentored me through my professional qualification so didn't want to let it go past without contributing.
So with a SFD blown I went and did a top up shop and paid for my repaired record layer that has been waiting for me for a while. And then I'm going to mop up the last of the bills from the old house and book the ferry to France for the summer, not that these are in the budgets here but I'm just waffling

Thanks for all the kind words and support you have shown:)
Hismisses - I think I am ashamed of myself really, I have got through life not owing people money, bar the usual mortgage etc, not on CC's and certainly not on an OD, and then I hit 60 and I have both, I know the amounts are very low in comparison to lots on here, but to me they seem huge and sometimes I cant see past it. I know I will pay it off cos I have cut spending to the max but it is a slow process.:( I have wasted SO much money in the past but its only now I realise it.
Anyway, feel much better now for putting it down, I should be thankful to have a house, 3 lovely DD's (who do know about it) and a job, so I can do something about it. It really came about because I have had a few days holiday and wanted to go out for a day and then realised I hadnt any money, so rather than go out and risk spending I have stayed in and done a lot of thinking:o
Thanks again

nannygladys - please feel proud you are dealing with your finances and making moves to improve them.
Another SFD day for me today although tomorrow I'm off to the pub after work. Should be fairly cheap though as the pub is both walking distance from work and my house

Arrrggghhh just did a really long post and have lost it. I've had a couple of spendy days but still managed a SFD yesterday as it was my day off and didn't leave the house all day.
NannyG - Hugs to you. I know how you feel, I am still in the same position I was ten years ago but with thanks to this thread I am more positive now and making headway.
Abundant - Hope you have a nice trip. My DD wants me to take her to London, but I know its going to be expensive so she will unfortunately have to wait or I might make it a girlie weekend (one night) stay over for her birthday later in the year.
Kat - I am so glad to see mention of another thread next month. I am sticking within my budgets so happy about that just still falling behind a bit with the SFD's. I'm up to 9 and I am staying in again this weekend so might hit a couple more before Monday.
Right I need some advice. I have opened up to my Mum a little about my debt. She knows I have a bit of debt cos some of it is to her but she doesn't really know the actual figure. I think she might be really disapointed in me which I hate. She had come up with the idea that she shoud have control of my money for a while to see if that helps. Oh my, I'm just turned 40 and am I going to result in taking pocket money from my mum
In theory I can see it being a good idea as I won't be able to go over my budgets but I will feel like a child going for my pocket money. I know I am crap with money and maybe this will make me see where I am going wrong. I have started keeping a spending diary again and I am giving up the fags when the last couple have gone out of my pack. Wish me luck tomorrow lol.
Sorry for the long post guys but I would appreciate some feedback on the mum situation.

Evening all
A SFD today but yesterday I bought a few bits which to be fair I didnt really need. Went and got some car windscreen cleaner and then thought sod it and went for a nosey in Mr T's. Bought a book even though Ive got shelves of unread books, however its already on ebay as it will not take me long to read it, can't put it down!!! Also bought some YS food and some cat pouches. Pickle doesnt seem to be eating much of her dry food at the mo, so have treated her. All figures have been added to sig.
Did my first bank shift today, but wont get paid until the end of April. Felt good to know some extra money is coming in.
Gretchen - I personally think its quite a good idea for your mum to help you, its a bit more pressure to help you resolve your situation. #Im sure shes doing it cos she loves you.:)
Kat - Oooh another challenge:T:T:T:T
May have got names mixed up but Abundant - Enjoy the big L.
NannyGladys - Well done for fessing up, you will get there!!! At least by following Kat's rules, youre improving your debts, not making them worse.
Halfway there nearly, keep going!!!

nannygladys - I didn't want to read run, especially as you've shared something that is so personal. Well done for being open and willing to put yourself out there. Here's to a short journey on a hopefully not-so-bumpy road.0

Right I've just had my last cigarette and my vapour cigarette is charged up ready for in the morning. I have cut down lately so am hoping its going to be easier this time. Please kick my backside if I own up to having one (which I will do, I promise).
