Makes perfect sense nannygladys and I reckon that's like a LBM!! Well done for thinking that way. I have trialed a few different methods over the last few months as I always seem to need a bit of money that's not budgeted for so I end up using a card or taking it from another budget and messing everything up. This month, I've taken all my budget money in cash and distributed it to my different purses (oh yes, colour co-ordinated spreadsheets and purses :)). That way, if I want to order anything online (my biggest temptation I suppose) I have to take the cash from my purse and get to the bank to pay it in before I can use my debit card. It's such a faff that I think it'll put me off, certainly it'll make me think twice!

Another spend day for me today in the form of £11.50 on an ink cartridge. I needed to print a claim letter to my credit card company but my stupid printer won't print if any of the cartridges are empty! I wanted a black and white letter but the yellow cartridge needed replaced before it would print  More money from the misc fund! On the face of it the £100 I've allocated for the month for "everything else" seems like a lot. London living isn't cheap and all sorts of things crop up (stamps, moisturiser, bikini wax vouchers) and it's really not as much as it sounds. We're not even half way through the month and I'm tearing through the budget! Must calm it down for the second half.

Re ebay feedback. My one and only neutral came from someone who left the comment "Very happy"! Eh, isn't that positive??? Talking of ebay, I must get organised to list my bulky things this weekend. I'll join the 99p brigade and see what happens. Last weekend a 99p top I listed ended at almost £25 (I'd previously tried to sell it for £14.99 with no bidders!) so you never know....and, some money's better than no money and a wardrobe full of bulky things I no longer wear!

Have a fab fab fab time in the big smoke Abundant - I'm sure you'll love it :D

    SFD = 8
    Food Spends = £21.13/£50
    Petrol Spends = £50/£50
    Misc Spends = £75.90/£100
    Money made = £69.64/£100

So in work today, with my bordeaux nails :rotfl: feel slightly overdone as that's so not me usually, but I feels good. Gonna hit the gym again this lunch as yesterday was the first time on the running machine and that showed me how crap my lungs are. So on my second day of no smoking (still had one or three a day after "stopping" the last months :o) I need to just remind me.

Cycled in again today, so no money =NSD 10

Re the 99p sales on ebay. Some things I put on for that but then I'm vary about tops and dresses because some just go for that. Got a Zara dress and a Gap jeans (really the only "branded" items I have worth selling) but there are so many of them and most just don't seem to go. The only item of clothing I managed to sell so far was a gift golf jumper which I realised then went for way under what it's worth, but I guess you never no with any item. Loads of luck too.

  • Good Morning one and all.....

The dreaded "leaving do" has been sprung on me today and we have three people leaving a very small office so I can't say no. We are heading for lunch first at a Thai restaurant and then drinks somewhere else where the rest of the massive office wil join us. I could really do without the expensce and plan to eat before I go out but there is simply NO WAY I can get out of this as I leave every other "outing" early...

So today will not be an SFD as much as I would like it to be. Yesterday was though...:T just need to remember to update the signature...

So this eBay feedback thing annoys me too. I had one negative feedback ages ago - but she was a nasty mare although I can't remember what it was for! The current one who I am trying to help ( who's package didn't arrive ) is being very nice and hasn't left any negative feedback - although I am not sure what I can do about it. If she wanted recorded delivery she should have asked..yes?... So I am sending EVERYTHING of mine recorded from now on.

Another bid on a 0.99p item which is worth a lot more. My ex gave it to me ( un-used lingerie ) and I have no inclination to use it anytime soon so any money is fine by me.... the other ( fitness equipment ) also from the ex has been bid on at £14.99 and will hopefully be picked up as it will cost the buyer £25 to post... ( 12kg in weight )....

Other than that I am pushing through the day...

Abundant I hope you have a nice time in London, as expensive as we are it is rather magical down here. Is it site-seeing or work??..Money on bread and goodies prior to coming here is okay... you will see why... I expect a full de-brief though upon your return Soldier - what did you see / what shocked you / did you get a snoop around Soho? / where did you stay etc..

    NannyGladys
... tell us how much in your overdraft you are. Seeing it in black and white and owning up to us will make it all the more real. If anyone ends up knowing who you are and talks to you outside the integrity and thrustworthiness of this thread send them to me and I'll have words....:).. and tell me how you are going to get out of it??..

Stop-Lurking - you are very sweet thank you! It makes it easier when you have someone to fight with and struggle with. Are you extra determined to get rid of it now...? Where do you find your biggest spends is? Mine was definatly food until I discovered the whole land of yellow sticker food..... What amount are you down to now though?..

On a different note - I shall write in bold to get attention to this.
    1. Do any of you know HOW on earth to get hold of vouchers/coupons bar writing to companies to complain / compliment?
    2. How many of you do this on a regular basis and never attend a supermarket without vouchers for money off?
    3. Whats the greatest spend you have completed with vouchers?
    4. You must all watch on 4OD and watch "The Ultimate Guide to Penny Pinching" and :T:Tall hail :T:Tthe woman that is JUDITH!!!
    5. What websites do you use to get coupons / vouchers??
    6. Are you embarassed to use them??
    7. I don't have a printer and will need to off-set the price of one against the use of the coupons... any ideas..? Maybe free-cycle but I need a printer which will allow me to re-fill the cartridges...
Okay this post is about to get too long so I shall end it here.. very very interested to see how many people use coupons..although Siouxsie I knwo what you mean about "other spends" although I allocated £25. I would rather it be there than like you said - use your card etc.

I posted a box of books to my mother yesterday..£12.30... as they are precious and I can't chuck them out. And that was the small box... so my "other spends" are going to be super boring this month!

    Right enough now...

    My favourite paragraph...

........And what do the Wenbans do with all the money they’ve saved? “We paid off our mortgage ten years early – I had that cleared by the time I was 35 – and we’ve spent a bit on our house. We’ve got a conservatory, and had the kitchen and the bathroom done, which we paid for, in full. We never do anything on credit or loans. Now they boys are getting older, we’ll have to think about saving for university.” .........

I reckon you could spend a month in London and not have done everything, we plan to do the great british music experiance at the O2 whist down there. Borough Market is one of my favourite places, the food there is amazing, just wish I could bring some of it back with me in the car. Kat do you know if its open on a sunday?
