Afternoon all - just popping in to report SFD number 10. My ebay sales are still trickling along - would love to make it to the £200 by the end of the month to repay the budget deficit - but not too hopeful. I guess we keep trying - right?
Love to all xx44 day challenge
1. Pay £650 off overdraft (£ 288/ £650)
2. Lose 12 lbs (4.5/ 12)

Just been paid £19.99 for an eBay item. Happy Me!“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Hi All,
have been off line again!!!!!! but fingers crossed its fixed now, am on 9/12 SFD, today was not one as its OH birthday and we had lunch out, It was however budgeted for so it felt really good to be in control of the spending instead of the other way round for a change,
have only had a chance to have a quick glance through the posts, but I will have a proper catch up later,
Everyone's still buzzing on here it really uplifting

Hey All...
Thanks for your comments!!!
Jonesy88 - Thank you! I too have a chart I colour in... I have a really nice 'book of financial freedom' that I have decorated etc! Must read it more often though. Good idea with the savings account. I need one I don't have easy access to - so I have to physically visit the cash point to get money out...
Angelpye - Wow - you went to a change conference... That sounded awesome. There's some great advice in your comments - and a reminder of just how different we all are is always helpful. I'm a very cerebral person - so love the idea of a brainstorm and goal setting - anything that makes me think, reflect and analyse! Will sit down with your ideas tonight!!! This could be where I've been going wrong...
Kat - Sound advice. I do worry (being in a shared house) what my flat mates will think if they go in my room to find me talking to myself via post-it notes LOL! Aww well... Glancing round the contents of my room they probably think I'm strange anyhow (candles, a wand, crystal ball (seriously!), feathers and stones, crystals etc... you get the idea!!!). What's a few post-its gonna do???
Will do a food plan for London and take supplies from my cupboard!!!
Didn't you like Oz??!? I thought it was *amazing*!!! Like that it's more grown up than the original plus obvious special effects improvements. I thought they got the continuity just right though... Plus - guy who played Oz was GRRR
Today = SFD number 8! Yay for me!

Evening
Today was a spend day as had a few bits n bobs to get and had to give to work mates birthday fund (i didn't mind as i actually like her!)
Re energy credit - just get up to date reads and ring 'em up. If you're in credit then they should refund no problem.
Abundant - if you dont want easy access, have you thought about an account that has a book rather than a bank card? My ISA is with Brit***ia and because its a building society i have a book so physically have to dig it out and go in branch. Makes me think twice about using it but because its still instant access i know i could get it if really needed.
NSK - I went to Paris for 3 days in Feb for my 1st wedding anniversary. Cold but beautiful.:rudolf: DF by Xmas 2018: #83 £8,250/£15,000 55% :rudolf:

Ha ha, I scan read this and somehow read feather boa and glitter ball and had an image of you singing I Will Survive in 1970s sunglasses wearing the feather boa :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
:j Hurrah, my over £5 toiletry splurge escaped the wrath of kat :j Only joking, and I'm still delighted with what I got for my money - no more gathering freebies for a whileIt's on it's way so hopefully it will arrive tomorrow - hope so, I scraped the last bit out of my freebie pot this morning!
I met up with, and had dinner with, a friend of mine last night. It was lovely, but a whopping £25 had to come out of my misc budget to cover my half of the bill  Yikes, there are still 19 days left of the month...I catch up with her every month and we usually end up going for a meal - must think of a cheaper alternative. We live on opposite sides of London so popping over to each other's house for a spot of home cooked food's not very practical. She knows I'm on a budget, but to her £25's a night out on a budget. Maybe for next month's get together I should scour the Living Social/Groupon style websites to find a cheap night out. They often have meals for 2 for around/less than £25 so if I paid for that next month, the next month could be on her!
Take note abundant, that's London prices for you!! Everything is expensive!
Today was a SFD for me :T It was so bloomin cold I almost gave in and bought a coffee just to heat myself up - it's alright, I resisted!!
My spring clean seems to have been confused by the weather! I started well organising piles of keep/ebay/charity bags, but it's gone all cold and I've got all busy with extra work so it's been halted. Must crack on though, the race to ebay bulky stuff is on before the Royal Mail puts prices up on 2 April!
So, as of today, my story is....
SFD = 8
Food Spends = £21.13/£50
Petrol Spends = £50/£50
Misc Spends = £64.40/£100
Money made = £69.64/£1000 -
Hi all,
Hope those who have snow have had fun and kept warm - my household loves snow so we have been having lots of free fun.
Paid for my cheap break away with dd's so looking forward to getting away with them both but just that little bit poorer. All in all including spends and petrol it will cost me £250 for four days but worth it for bonding time.
Downside for me today is checked noodle and it looks shocking, damage done in less than a year, huge shock but makes me determined to sort it!
Abundant the conference was fab, loads of people there for motivation and ready or getting ready for change. It has really helped me understand what motivates me. And I am hoping will give me more insight into my relapse and cause a quick recovery.
SFD today not including holiday but not counting that.Happiness is wanting what you have...0 -
Evening all, had a good couple of no spend days but needed food today. Had all your voices in my head when I was going round the supermarket lol and spent just under ten quid, that should last me a week I hope. Got loads of healthy stuff and made a lovely veggie stew for tea with plenty of leftovers for lunch at work tomorrow.
Have been hording vouchers from complaints and compliments to companies and have spent a couple over the last couple of days. It's a winner for me, I get to have a little spending "fix" but my bank balance doesn't go down any0 -
Hi everyone, feel much better tonight after a lazy day of sorting my mind out a bit and dreaming of a better future:)
Read my meters this morning:
Electric used 36 - up 6
Gas used 6 usits - used the same as last week:)
The gas Im really pleased about as for the second week I have kept the heating on low practically all day instead of putting it on higher for a shorter time, so the house is warmer for longer and the gas usage is the same. The electric Im not sure what happened I dont think I have used it any more or less - thats the way cookie crumbles I suppose.
Hope everyone is OK, and by the way you're not the only one Abundant with candles, wand, stones etc about, but I havent got a crystal ball
Jxx£1 a day 2025: £90.00/365 Xmas fund0 -
Siouxsie - I thought I best let you away with it as it was such a fab purchase and my entire beauty budget went on hair-dye!:rotfl:“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence.
