Hi everyone, another sfd for me, not going out anywhere today, finishing off a baby cardi for DD3.

Fish with something for dinner, run out of pots but have rice and pasta in so will do a bit of one or the other, wish I could get my eating under control. Ive had problems since my teens and at times of stress its gets worse and at the moment as I feel 'down' its very up and down, anyway less about that.

Hope everyone is having a good day and keep warm

    Afternoon Chickadees...

WHOOP WHOOP = another SFD on my sheet from yesterday and aiming for another today! Bought time I caught up with you all!!!

MancMan - well done on your recent good news. Shows that sheer determination and will power can get you anything! You clearly want to be on the streets as a Special so the more the UK has of people like you the better. Now have you paid that £300 to the debt yet??:p

Abundant - I used to feel like you are. Envelopes are hard to deal with though. Do you post motivational comments on your wall to look at everyday?? Short and simple but enough to make you think about spends before walking out the door..."Have you packed your lunch?".."You will NOT spend anything today"..etc etc..:). I find that as long as I have my mind made up BEFORE I go somewhere nothing can sway me. SO for London seriously plan ahead. It's mega expensive up here. Bring a flask, snack, sandwiches for the 2 days - or at least ingrediants to make them?. I would rather you go out and buy stock for this where you are than risk spending a LOT more whilst here... ( Also saw Oz The Great and Powerful last night - I want those two hours of my life back - nothing will replace the original and the witches scared my 30 year old freind!!! :p)

Ninno - I had the same probelm with my bike last year. Budgetted £200 and it was over £300... gutting but I know you can get that back somehow and the vehicles we own are precious... but still I feel  on your behalf!!

Jonesy - I loved your post. I do something similar with my money. I know exactly what my bills are each month and what my loan repayments are. Once deducted I take whatever is left deduct what I only NEED - Food, an outing pre-planned etc and keep this LOW.. but try and budget for everything. This month I have £25 emergency money taken out as well... the rest is tucked away or paid towards my debt. I carry cash with me everywhere and have about £20 in my current account and petrol money in another seperate account... This month £1100 has been tucked away... ( stupid house move ).. although I understand the love of colouring in your charts!! :T:T:T

Angelpye - you are right. I personally HATE owing anything to anyone. I want to be entirely self sufficient. AND someday want to go on holiday at the weekend for three days to Paris and just go and book it. £430 minimum each month for loans - that annoys me so much!

NannyGladys - EXACTLY. Pushing forward, knowing where you are and not sticking your head in the sand. This, never mind anything else, is PROGRESS. Great work Warrior!!! :p

StopLurking - you sound like you have a seriously good month a head. A bonus, a debt paid off freeing up a monthly £250.. You must be very proud of yourself!! Is that you debt free or shall you plough it into the next debt..? I have done nothing by the way - you know what you can do you just needed someone to remind you! :rotfl:

LAGL - where is your cottage roughly? Have you a thatched roof though? So glad your man paid up - nothing more annoying that someone bidding and not paying straight away!!! Sounds like the birthday girl is being looked after..:T.. But I might pass on the beef though..

Thrifty - What are you growing?? I have fingers crossed for you eBay.. nothing worse that loads of watchers and no bidding, best its low watchers and a surprise massive bid at the end.... hope it goes well!!!

Calling - you sound in pain? How did that happen??.. Hope you got your insoles though.. and doggy bic's. Were they to go with the sausages..:rotfl:

L2B - I am in desperate need to exercise. I am planning on smiling sweetly at the local leisure centre people and possibly joining a gyn ( ) when I move house.. but I need to negotiate a good fee. Only cause I can't run outdoors due to chondra malasia patella ( or something like that ).. and it being freezing outside..:rotfl:

Right... I am on until 1930 tonight.. looking forward to all the possible updates... keep them coming...

I am off to lurk and read some other threads..

    Onwards and Upwards...

  • Afternoon - Kat we are in Deepest Devon and I do indeed have a straw roof and walls made of mud - makes house insurance quotes hilarious :) I had one poor woman from Swindon convinced I lived in the house from the three little pigs!! Anyway the roof and walls mean we only get through one tank of oil per year in my slow cooker, I mean rayburn (which is older than me) so its quite economical really!

Got tomato, pepper, chilli, lovage, basil, dill, salad and wild garlic seedlings (some of them don't look too good because of the cold). Just grow them indoors (conservatory/kitchen, as our garden is still all chuckies). Also got strawberries in pots in the conservatory, chives, rosemary, thyme and sage in the border in the front garden. Also got an apple tree planted there but have to save that from the wasps this year.

  • Hehe -sounds like you want my house with a bigger garden - we do tomatoes, cucumbers, strawberries and a few bits but no where near enough space for chucks or bees and proper veg!

Having a naughty giggle - Thriftys chuckies are not hens but gravel - its what I call it too and confuses the life out of people south of the border!

Right no more posting for me today - I must work!! Got to go get DS in an hour :eek::eek:

If you see me back on here - tell me off!

  • Just back from the gym. I made it and i fear it may have broken my lazy streak. Now time to fetch the mischief makers from school and nursery and then clear upstairs. Still waiting for my compensation cheque, have been told it will be arriving soon. Hope it does, its already in my signature lol. L2B.x

    Hello all,

Just a quickie drop-by as we're busy at work.

Yesterday wasn't a SFD as ikkle kitty had appt at the vets - he's stressed and is now on chill pills to try to stop him tearing his hair out, literally. Had to put it on the CC too as wasn't expecting to get an appt so quickly.

Tonight we're being naughty and going out for tea and a trip to IkE@ as we need a coffee table desperately and seen one that would be ideal and large enough for £23. Now I know most of you wouldn't consider it an essential buy but it will tidy up the living room and hopefully a tidy house = a tidier life.
