  • Evening All, not checked in for last 3 days as home for weekend and spending gone awol, bought 4 pairs of shoes, a belt, sunglasses and was out saturday at school reunion. Was a brilliant weekend though need but doesn't justify the spending! Xx

Learnt a lot of lessons this week, namely that certain people in my circle think the world owes them and should pay for them. Whenever I go places with these people I always end up spending a fortune and I am certainly not rich! Seems very one sided and I always go away feeling like a right mug; not even having had a good time really. So I really need to take a step back. Grrrr! <rant over>

I know EXACTLY what you mean by this. I took a real step back from certain people in my life and realised I am a little better off without them. They were entirely single minded and out for themselves whilst living a ridiculous life. I must admit, I don't miss them! Hope you manage to work it out though - its never good feeling like a mug but I have been there!!!

  • On a happier note - lots got done today. Am about to put my hair in really lovely rollers ( NOT ) and hit the hay. 9 things set on eBay... would have preferred to get more up but they will do for now! Hope all is well and everyone is tucked up in a warm bed!!!

  • Checking in with a SFD so I think that's 7/25. No idea how I'm going to make £100 as I can't eBay and no overtime. I did get paid back £50 I never expected to get so I wonder if Kat will let me count that towards it? Maybe not as I have done nothing to 'earn' it. Anyway, will update budgets later in week. Hope you all have a good week. Night night.

Another SFD for me today as been in the house this morning and work until now so happy about that.
NSK and Sarah147 - I know where you're coming from on the certain "friends" and money situ. I took a very wide berth in the end as it was too draining and just made me angry.
Off to my bed now. Take care everyone xxx

Evening all....late check in SFD today and still had chocs, flowers and cards with lots of tea, lovely surprise from the lovelies. Hope all mums had a nice day.
I baked a banana cake to use up some sad looking black numbers in the fruit bowl, have to concede at some point that I cannot bake! I can cook and make pastry but I cannot bake. It was made more palatable with butter and lemon curd though.
Made a big pan of potato, chickpea and chicken curry which was all stuff I had in so store cupboard going down slowly.
Work tomorrow and packed lunch in fridge and evening meal ready.

    Hi all :j,

I know as well how frustrating this can be, but once you have taken a step back and actually got rid of such people (like I did years ago) life has never been better for many reasons not only money :D. I have not been here very much, but I can declare 6 SFDs and it feels good :j . Have spent money today on a makeup and a cream and it didnt cost me a fiver :think: :shhh: (sorry KAT this has been my only beauty buy in months and should last me for a long time) and will shop tomorrow as well(cooking for a couple of friends and not everything was available at the supermarket today)so it was all for a good reason .
I need to continue with decluttering/cleaning and tidying tomorrow so I am off to bed and good night everyone.
    Great and peaceful week.

    Morning all,

Awoke to a wondrous article on the Daily Snail.. that woman who decided she didn't have enough money 4 months ago has curbed her spending - although she is not hard-core NSK material like you lot just yet. And still spending £760 on groceries each month... ??.. but then hubby earns £50,000 a year so thats okay isn't it....:p

I got my bits listed on eBay and a lot more done besides so I am happy with myself.. would have preferred to stay in bed today due to it being SO cold today but am aiming to be a SFD today and I think I shall run and update my signature now...

    Laters...
