  • :o:oSorry, sorry, sorry. Hanging head in shame that I have not posted since the beginning of the month. I am very prepared to be shouted at Kat:o:o

But, I am reporting 7/9 SFD's which I'm proud of and have taken packed lunches to work most days. I have receipts in front of me to update my figures but I'm gonna leave that until the morning now as it has taken me this long to catch up on the thread.

I'm amazed at the progress that some of you folks have made. Well done :T:T

I've had a bit of a pay rise this week so am made up with that. Any extra is going towards my debts. I've also sold a few things on e-bay and will also put those totals on tomorrow. Think I will add some of the other things on there tomorrow and make the most of the free listings.

Anyway think I should get off to bed. I have been promised a cup of tea in bed in the morning from DD and I have noticed a present stashed away in her room. Bless her:):)

Hope you all have a nice day tomorrow and Kat I promise I will post every day now:):)

Ooooh deary me! I am late with my checkin today! Thought I might make it before midnight but nope!

Had a superbly lazy day.. ate at a friends house, had a nap around 1500 for 3 hours, had a shower and ate again and tidied my room. One load of washing later and hey presto it's bedtime. Oh and nattered to Mumsy for an hour....thats the thing with being away from family and living somewhere else. I can't pop round for a visit, a cuppa, sunday dinner - nothing. I look after me.

So the house was a success. I have told her I will take it. It's small but cosy - just me and the landlady! Its a bit too clean for my liking - does that make sense...? But I am interested to see what her 3 year old Shih Tzu makes of my cat and vice versa...:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I have a TV and DvD player being left in my room by the landlady's daughter, off road parking for the bike, a 20 minute walk into town or the other direction a 15 minute walk to the cinema. I am inside the London zones and a travel card for a week off the bike is £51.80 for 7-days instead of £70 and for a month off the bike it's bang on what I would pay for petrol...:T:T:T

I definitly need the space now.. I took this current house at a bad time in my life.. its like it's carrying the bad feelings and I need away.. I am fixed, time to fix where I live..

Right.. more tomorrow...His_Missus what on earth have you been up too??

Great news about the house Kat - moving on has a nice sound to it.

Yesterday was a spend day - but it was limited to just under £19 and spent on fresh fruit and veg plus some yoghurts - just essentials. My pay day is now 12 days away so I will be limping across the line (as ever). However my budget has been extremely tight since christmas and my fridge and freezer has never looked so empty. Mind you I am taking full advantage of teh situation. I am defrosting the freezer next weekend and an empty fridge means that everything is used up rather than being left to go off and be thrown out.
    Happy mothers day everyone x

Great news Beckyboo - glad your Hubby is turning things around... am really pleased for you!!!

Iwillsucceed... Maybe NSK should introduce a compulsory dress code for us all... Bright green jumpers with a matching hat covered in £ £ £ £ £ maybe LOL. That way we'd always be able to spot each other :D

Yesterday was a good day. I did some cooking... Lentil & Sweet Potato stew... Mashed Potato for freezing (had to try it!!! Today = SFD number 6

My mission for the rest of March is to try and up the amount of exercise I am doing (or not as the case may be)!!! Somebody is giving me a free Guest Pass to their gym so I can see what it's like.

    Catch you all later!!!

    Hi everyone,

Slightly mad at the husband because he went off the shops yesterday to buy ingredients for Mother's Day lunch, with strict instructions to spend £20 or less. £35 later...... I can't really be cross because he wanted to do a nice lunch for me, but it has not helped the budget situation! I'm hoping there will be enough leftovers for a few more meals....

I am loving the idea of matching jumpers and hats!

SFD total currently 6/9 and hopefully today will be 7/10.

    Morning all!

Glad you've got a house sorted, Kat, hope it's the start of a very positive chapter in your life.

Ok confession time - our shopping trip was disastrously expensive yesterday and I don't really know why but we spent almost all of my whole weekly budget of £100, eek! We didn't even seem to have that much to show for it either.
We did spend almost £20 buying the ingredients Hubby wanted for his curry night on top of the £50ish I spent on the general weekly food shop. £10 on wine (naughty I know) £10 on pressies for mums and Hubby spent £5 at the second hand book stall. £5 of change went into the savings pot, leaving me £5 in my purse for the rest of the week.

However, Hubby's curry was delicious and there was enough left for another meal and I suppose it cost about the same as a takeaway...

We're off out tonight and was planning on going out for tea before but can't afford to do that now :(
  • Happy Mothers Day everyone. Had a great start to the day. DD woke me up with promised cup of tea and a card and presents. Believe it or not I got more teary eyed at a card insert that she had made herself.

Going to be a SFD today as I am still in my pj's. Have done a few things round the house but now having a relax before going over to mums later for dinner (which we have both contributed to as she is a pensioner and money is tight for her too) and we are both cooking it. DD can then wash up lol.

Just about to work out figures of money spent in the last week and will update shortly.

Kat - so glad to hear about your house move, so exciting for you. Out with the old and in with the new:T:TMSE style of course lol!!

  • Signature updated with figures but e-bay not as good as I thought as the money came in at the end of Feb so not counting that. Off to upload more on there to reach my target. Otherwise, budget is looking good.

    Happy Mothers Day everyone!

Another SFD for me today - strangely i find weekends easier to keep my purse shut.

The exciting news for today is I sold my car! Only £200 but it was 16 years old with a judder. I'll miss it I think :( However i just couldnt justify the cost of it - insurance £53pm, fuel £15pm, tax works out at £20pm plus any MOT/repair costs. Even if i took a taxi everywhere i used it for it wouldnt come to £90 odd a month. OH has a new nice car, which we've agreed to share - I walk to work and he cycles most days so should be quite easy to manage. My only monthly costs will be my name on his insurance (£10 approx) and about £15 petrol, if that. Still, feels wierd to look out the window and see an empty space.
