Evening everyone
Wow, lots of posts today - lots of interesting news (from all of you, my day's been boring!)
Not a lot to report:
Another SFD (on account of it being a boring one!)
My ebay winner from Sunday finally got in touch to say she's ill and will try and pay on Monday - eh, what??? Surely logging onto the internet tell me this takes as long as logging into her Paypal account and making a payment? The three items I relisted all have bids so that's a bit of money coming in. Good news about the free listings weekend. I'll get listing/relisting so hopefully get a bit more money under my belt before the end of the month.
Quidco paid outso I can add it to add to the fiver I found during the week...only another £83.12 to find to make my extra £100!
My month so far looks like:
SFD = 6
Food Spends = £12.83/£50
Petrol Spends = £50/£50
Misc Spends = £32.60/£100
Money made = £16.88/£1000 -
Good morning all, sorry did not check in last night too tired from milking!!! (not), saw lots of cows but no stool. Abundant am impressed with goat milking skills, a hidden talent? Rang son and he bought milk so crisis averted and SFD so 5 so far I think? Planning a spend today as the cupboards are nearly bare but still using up the freezer so will plan for the week. I honestly cannot wait to get rid of all the bits and pieces so that I can batch cook and organise the freezers again. Have a party tonight but will drive and taxi so should keep costs down and it should be fun.
Calling - scary stuff, I am a singleton as well so would not like the situation I hope all works out well and quickly for your peace of mind.
Mayfair - now burning with curiosity!!
Was having a bit of a down day yesterday on the way to work re the milk so I made a mental list of everything I had achieved since beginning the challenges, was it only January 1st? and came up with -
Saved £143 - cancelled health policy as I already have one
Saved £148 - shopping around for car insurance
Saved £58 - house insurance comparison site and £38 gained through quidco
Saved £360 interest by changing CC to 0% interest
Gained £800 from tax rebate
Loads on food clothes and beauty products
£25+ on coins round the house and on the street
Reduced Talktalk bill by £12 per month by renegotiating phone call
Okay my hair needs a good cut and a manicure wouldn't go amiss and I do NEED some work shoes but in the scheme of things it's all good and I really want to be debt free so onwards and upwards.
Right am off to release some mystery goodies from the freezer for pre party meal and plan my menu, have a good day xJanuary 2020 Grocery challenge £119.45/£200

Afternoon everyone, I've come to confess (again!). I've been needing face cream for a few weeks now since my previous tube has been squeezed dry (and the top cut off to squeeze an extra day out of it!). I've been picking up free samples and generally getting by. Today I got an email from the company I often buy from offering 20% off for the next 48 hours - hmm, not bad. I took a look at the website while mulling the offer over and wondering if it's actually feasible to live entirely off free samples for the rest of the month. Anyway, I found a kit that contained my usual £25.60 moisturiser, a full size cleanser (£18.40) and a full size eye cream (£24.60) in their sale section for £19.50 and paid £15.60 once I used my 20% off voucher!! I'm delighted because I really really needed the moisturiser anyway and I'm about to run out of cleanser too. So, I spent £15.60 but a) it was an essential (not in the way food and water are essential, but you know what I mean!) and b) my ebay lady paid up so I was able to use the money from that so it didn't have to come out of any of my pre-set budgets (and doesn't mess up any of my spreadsheets:D)
So, can't quite declare it as a SFD, but it didn't cost me any actual money :j
Oh, and I was able to pay £5 off my debt too
Bids on my listed ebay items so I'll be back tomorrow to declare income and no spends0 -
Hi
Decided to go out yesterday to the cinema and watch 'The Great & Powerful Oz"... Awesome!!! As I'd already had to spend dosh that day I figured keep all my spends on one day so I can maximise SFDs over the weekend!!!
Today = SFD number 5
Have a good Saturday :T

Afternoon all, well defo a spend day but have tried to mop up everything for the week and haven't gone mad honest!! Did buy curtain lining material and some plants for me for mothers day but on the plus side I found a fiver and took a 3 month sabbatical from our contact lenses - we both have a six month stash on hand so this will save us about £65 over April - June. Anyway - waffling on now....
Need to go and smarten myself up - off out for an indian with some lovely friends - knackered but quite looking forward to it! It doesnt happen often and Im hopeful for some tiger beer!
Have a good one, Love LAGL xxDebt free on the 28/05/130
