    Kat,
I am wondering what to do with my £342 compensation cash, i want to pay some off on my CC but also want to splurge some too, I think I know what I should do, but what do you think I should do?

Honestly.. it all needs to go on the CC. I know you want to splurge.. that urge will always be there. But don't you have a wedding to save for??

Best get rid off that CC as you may need it closer to the day. Help your credit rating now with the small things because I am sure you will want to provide your new wife with a home - your own home!!. Mortgage companies will look at the way you live before agreeing to support you and give you hundred of thousands of pounds. Show them that you have your furture in sight, you are sensible and you are planning ahead.

Nothing you buy with that money will satisfy you - trust me. You will regret it.

Albeit I'm willing to allow you a take away to celebrate...:)

EDIT = I just saw your post young man about SPLURGING THE ENTIRE AMOUNT???? You dare come on here and SWEAR like that???:rotfl:..Seriously though, you are being given an unexpected foot up in your debts and the first thing you assume is "well I wasn't expecting it so I may as well spend it all"...

NO NO NO NO! What planet are you on!! If you get money back from something unexpected this is a gift from the spirit of "positive thinking" - pay off what you OWE first!!!!!

    Give me strength.....:p:p:p:p

Right today is going to be an SFD if it kills me, Wednesday was I think so I need to mark that up to. You are all doing a lot better than me on this so I salute you and bow the knee before the all powerful amoungst you..

There is a lot of talk about cows.. I used to drink my friends cows milk straight from the massive vat they filled up straught from the moo-moo's. Still warm - so lovely.

So the organisation has been emailed and advised I would like all monies spent within the last 6 months returned to me. Only them will I return their very expensive uniform. I am expecting £225.

Credit note stashed and safe although the same place indicated they might buy a vintage dress from me that I can't wear. This was Lily Allen's sister that served me this time....

Although spending the weekend pushing forth with my eBay endeavours... £14.99 down - only £472.01 to go...:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    ONWARDS AND UPWARDS!!!

Friday is here - :) Off swimming with DS in a moment - wonder how many lengths I'll manage today and what state I will be in by this evening :D

So a NSD today - largely due to the shopping trip of doom earlier in the week but all good in the end :)

Re the lack of milk I have a couple of friends that we operate our own shop with. Being out in the sticks its not unusual to get a call asking if you have an onion, milk, baking paper, lemon juice etc etc you then whatever you have borrowed you replace on your next shopping trip. This may not be an option if you are in a town but works for us - beats a 20 mile round trip for one item anyway!

Mancman - I'd take the takeaway and run - I suspect you knew what the answer would be from NSK when you asked :D

Going to be a spend day tomorrow I suspect - got to take DD to the optician and out for a meal in the evening - first meal out for a very long time and being done instead of birthday presents with a couple of good friends - all budgetted & all good!

Hope you all have a fab Friday

    LAGL xx

PS final fleabay from sunday has finally paid!! Wondering if they are on the challenge and this is already a spend day... :rotfl:

Things not going well. realise that the lodger I have taken in has to go. Feeling very uneasy with him around, he did have a drink problem gave up 10mths ago, suffers depression, last night he was going to have the police come up to my house to interview him as someone had been threatening him, something to do with being violent twds an ex girlfriend - which he denies. He was on edge all night. Told him Police had to interview him somewhere else and as I am single live alone female called up an ex chunky bf to come up for a few hrs.
Now I am either going to get him to leave tonight or tomorrow but will ask ex bf up when I tell him. Had lots of lodgers last few yrs all student teachers and no hassle always felt safe, but this has to end.
Now I had overpaid my credit card so may have to overdraw to return his deposit. Prefer to feel safe, happy in my own home than stressed out to hell.

Yday lunch with friend 8 pounds to include a glass of wine and rest food spend salad and some fruit. Fuel needed put on cc as need cash to refund lodger.

Dog Food spending today but weekend will try to be nsd hopefully.

Have a good day everyone and credit note better than nowt Kat. Can't you sell it on to a friend?
Good luck everyone, think things get tough now with no lodger.;-(

Sorry NSK :( i wasnt thinking of splurging the whole lot, it was just an idea, I wouldnt have done so. It has been a rough couple of days at work and I am thinking of applying for a new job, scratch that I am applying for a new job.
After reading what most people have put on here i am in agreeance, I think I will spend th £42 and put the £300 on the C/C I think, everybody is right I would seriously regret not doing this I think.
Thanks everybody for stopping me from doing the wrong thing I think and doing the right thing. It should be in my account in about 10 days so will finalise the decision then with the majority going on my card may need some new tyres though soon, as I failed a roadside test recently by the police. This should be £100 max.

Ha ha!! MancMan I feel like I need to hug you now! For the money issues and the naughty tire issues. You are doing the right thing. Bearing in mind here in London an Indian take away is about £30 for two people...

Calling14 - what a horrible situation for you. You are doing the right thing.. and since you have had so many lodgers in the passed it must be okay getting another one in surely?.. and good on the burly ex-boyfriend for helping out. Every girl needs one of them! :T

Was hoping today would be an NSD but we're going to FIL's tomorrow and he gave me his wife's old but still working great 40 year-old kenwood mixer a while back and I thought I better bake sth for him which I intended to do for ages. Just need butter and icing sugar though as I got everything else.

Good luck with getting you're money back NSK, agree with the previous comments, their loss

Abundant, again agree with most others, stick most into the debt and maybe keep 20 for a treat, you fell so much better, but I see that was your plan anyway

Calling please be safe and yes get rid of him if it doesn't feel right, I'm sure you'll find a lodger more like the nice previous ones soon enough again

    That's me for now
    Tada

NSK, I beg your forgiveness for I have sinned, and broken commandments of this challenge...

Namely, not checking in every day... Bad lotti!

So, I am currently running on 3/25 SFDs, I am going to have to get my budgeting in order for my days off later in the month... Going back tonight to see my Ma for the weekend, we're having fish and chips which might get paid for by her...

I find it so hard sometimes as I love to go to the pub when I'm back in the village I grew up in (well, I love to go to the pub anyway, but it is easier to control the urge when away!) and buy a round and catch up with everyone, especially as the people I see there have always bought more than their fair share of drinks for me when I've been struggling for work or studying, and I do have a decent salary now... just would also like to pay off the debt hummock completely and get some savings under my belt. I know it's a silly thing to worry about, but it does bother me! I also know that they don't expect to be bought drinks, but I'm not one of those girls who is proud of never paying for a drink...

Right, moan over. Serious planning and budgeting time. We need to make decisions about what we're doing on my days off and where we're spending Easter. M's birthday is good friday which throws a right spanner in the works... AAAARGH.

    On and up!
