Well £5 spent on work related bits yesterday but today was a SFD :j
I took my mum to Mr Ts tonight (as she cant drive and would have to get a taxi back with her bags) and in exchange she bought me some cheap yoghurts, milk and broccoli :j
I'm feeling naughty as I have just cancelled the water DD - they wanted to up it from £21 to £82 pm. We do have a little debt but this was due to a small leak which is now resolved. Anyhoo long story short, their forecast is skewed by the leak and Ive supplied reads to confirm our consuption is back to the £21 mark so was happy to pay £50 a month to also clear the debt. The lady on the phone agreed (after i stood my ground and argued) but today i logged on to see no amendment  so i've cancelled and requested a callback to explain/argue again.
ETA: I owe £10 to a work mate for a meal deposit that is unaccounted for anywhere. As this debt occurred in Feb i dont think it should go in this months spends but my account is still £10 down so i've reduced the food budget from £45 to £35.sorted.

That sounds like a nightmare kat - don't you hate it when you know they're wrong?! Happened to me once (kinda similar but different) when I had to reapply for a job I'd been doing for 2 years and it got given to someone new! I was raging at the time and knew they were making a mistake - a few months later they admitted they made a mistake  Good luck getting your money back. If anyone can, you can!!
Mancman, fab news on the compensation. A similar thing happened to a friend of mine a few years ago. I told him what to do but he'll never do it. Maybe I should offer to do it all on his behalf in return for a 50% cut in his compensationIn terms of your splurge/save dilemma, I had a small bonus a few months ago and can't tell you the buzz I got from paying it all towards my debt. Although, it is unexpected, so you could probably do a bit of both. If you blow it all though, is there a chance you'll feel disappointed that you are still debtbusting and some of it could have gone towards it?
Ooh mayfair, we're all intrigued - are you going on Deal Or No Deal? Or are you ditching your OH and marrying HarryI think he'd be a laugh to be married to but I imagine the Daily Mail would have a good old snoop around and expose my previous MSE life :money: Lots and lots of good vibes coming your way, hope it turns out to be the best £40 investment you ever made!!
So, it's time for me to fess up...I'd been looking at a Wowcher deal for a Brazillian and Underarm wax for £9.99 for the last few days and decided to buy it as it'll end up saving me a load of money. To ease my Spreadsheet OCD, I had to put it in as £10 though because I paid with card and my Misc budget is in cash in my purse. I paid in £10 cash today to the bank (couldn't bring mself to ask for 1p change!) so all the pages/purses still balance beautifullySince it was a spend day, I also spent £1.80 on stamps and ££4.55 on a small grocery top up.
Oh, and the most exciting news of all - the Shop Scan Save App works and I'm now the proud owner of a FREE bumper sized box of Maltesers! It was easy....go and download it now. The Maltesers are free til Monday
So, my MFF progress so far looks like.....
SFD = 5
Food Spends = £12.83/£50
Petrol Spends = £50/£50
Misc Spends = £32.60/£100
Off to the gym now in preparation for hundred of Maltesers trying to make my tummy wobble :eek:0 -
Evening all - and hugs to Kat. As others have said you have true leadership potential and they have missed out big time.
Mayfair - I am really intrigued - positive vibes coming your way.
Thrillingly I am declaring NSD number 7 - yes I can't belive it myself ether! I have been helped by a donation of a bag of veg - veg risotto for tea tonight and lunch tomorrow - plus a portion for tea tomorrow night as well. Its a lot of rice but that's okay with me once in a while.
Saturday should be my spend day - I need to stock up on fresh fruit.
Ebay is beginning to pay off - its nearly up to £30 so far.44 day challenge
1. Pay £650 off overdraft (£ 288/ £650)
2. Lose 12 lbs (4.5/ 12)
3. Use YNAB everyday (6/44)0 -
Free Maltesers sounds so good! Thanks for the tip Siouxsie32.
Another SFD for me today, so that is a total of 5 so far. The target of 25 seems very far away but I will persevere. It is a great feeling every day to be able to declare another SFD so that is putting me off spending. It is driving my husband mad a little bit but he is going along with it so far!MBNA credit card £3529.14
House extension loan £30238.90
Debt free date September 2016 but would really like to make it happen sooner!0 -
Checking in, spent £64 quid on hair cut & highlights, i stretch it to every 3 months or longer so not too bad. I resorted to buying a diet coke & crisps, since when did coke cost 90p a can!?0
-
90p? wow! Diet coke is 55p from our canteen at work (any other time i wont consider it so dont look)
Ooo Mayfair, is it Deal? A work mate went to an audition for them yesterday - he said they had a crying woman planted in a room in the morning and everyone who helped her got through to the afternoon. He's through to the show stages now!
NSK - did they give you the impression by paying money out etc you'd be picked? Did you throw in their faces how you lead/guide an online community through your challenges?:rudolf: DF by Xmas 2018: #83 £8,250/£15,000 55% :rudolf:

Hi All
So sorry for not being around for a couple of days. Things have been busy! Let me work back my spends for the week.
Monday - Bought a stack of cards, hubbys birthday - cards from me and M, mothers day, mums 80th birthday, a girly card, belated card and 6th birthday. Got a belated pressie for my Auntie - some primroses which were in a teracotta bowl - £4 from Morrisons and really pretty. Also bought hubby a book, bottle of bison grass vodka and gift wrap to finish his pressies. Together with the beard trimmer (he looks better already!), t-shirt and dressing gown he seemed pretty happyAll planned spends.
Tuesday - Me, hubby and M went out for a chinese buffet meal for hubbys birthday. £40 including drinks. This was a planned spend. Also fuel £30.
Wednesday - Bought a cob on the way to work! !!!!!!, I just haven't been doing this so why this week I don't know. I had cheese and coleslaw on granary. It was lovely (they make them up while you wait). I used to buy these all the time but they are not very diet or MSE friendly. I am usually so good about taking lunch!
Thursday - Bought a cob on the way to work again!!! Just shoot me now! It was so nice yesterday. I had a pkt of smash and tin of spaghetti with me but it wasn't doing it for me. And then I bought a freddo bar and hippo (for me and M) from the newsagent on the way back! I am a bit of a b*gger for thinking 'oh well I have already spent money today'!
Nothing major but I am failing big time this month. Tomorrow I am back with the challenge - it will be a SFD. I already have my lunch planned - I have thai cous cous with courgette and mange tout (I had the other half for tea tonight) and I will take yoghurts too. I will have breakfast before I go. I am really cross with myself as I will never make the 25 SFD now but I will try to do as many as I can. Well done to those of you who have been racking them up.
M had his second 1:1 swimming lesson today and it went really well. It is the first time he has swum on his back without being held or using floats :j He enjoyed it too. We are going at the weekend to practice what he has learned.
I am glad to hear the cheese, onion and potato bake is going down so wellWe haven't had it for a while - I might make it tomorrow for tea. I don't put milk in mine Abundant. Why not give it another go without the milk. Just layers of potato, onion and cheese. I sometimes put in mushrooms or slices of tomato, add a bit of black pepper and garlic if you fancy. Yum! Someone asked about how much to use. I would pick a dish big enough to make the portions necessary and then use enough ingredients to fill it - does that make sense? I never measure stuff for savoury dishes. If you want sauce with it, a fairly runny cheese sauce would be best poured over I think. I like it without as it goes a bit brown and crispy round the edges. There is enough fat in the cheese to cook it but you can add a bit of butter if you like. Some people add meat but I am a veggie
Serve with baked beans/peas/sweetcorn or greens/salad/bread or just on it's own!
I am having a think about the weekend. We are planning to take M swimming at some point to practice. It is mothers day so I will need to get flowers. We could do with milk, mushrooms, and a few other bits but no big shop this week. I have a hair appointment on Saturday so if I do all of that then, Fri and Sun can be SFDs.
This weekend I need to get some more stuff on Ebay. I have had £6.99 from Quidco today and £4 cashback waiting on my work discount scheme to be deducted when I next make a purchase.
Kat, sorry to hear about the voluntary thing not working out. It is their loss. Hopefully you will have gained something from the experience and it is not all to waste. Glad you got a credit note for the dress. At least that was something. You could look out for things you could sell to make a profit on ebay!
Mayfair - I hope your mystery venture works out. Can't wait to hear what you are up to!
MancMan - great news about the compensation. I am in the use the £300 on debt and splurge the rest campMaybe a nice meal out? Play with the figures - what would you be happy with?
Siouxsie - brazillian and underarm wax - OUCH  No thanks, I would have easily saved my money there'Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain'0 -
Evening all. Kat- these people don't know what they're missing out on. If they want leaders they have missed a great chance to recruit a fab leader in you.their loss.
Mayfair- fingers crossed things work out for you.
Another SFD today so 5/25. Food budget gone mad £133/230 and it's only 7th. Interesting times ahead. Petrol 40/90 so not too bad. Good luck all- one week nearly gone. XMFIT -T5 #420 -
