Afternoon folks.. glad to see you are all having a good day so far! I needed to quickly say a bit well done to BeckyBoo.. I am sorry I didn't say it last night but I am SUPER impressed with the way you have both picked things up to work the way you want.. yes things are tough but like you said you are living for YOU!!!

SO.. today I am on a roll. Have forced myself to sit down and eat and take the opportunity to update and check in. Having seen the lovely house I am moving into I am desperate to embrace the minimalistic lifestyle I envy...

So have hit Mr T's to stock up... £43 later... I am stocked enough for two weeks. Eggs until the end of the month ( organic free range only ), and fruit to keep me happy at work. I have hair-dye (£5) in there...hair-spray (£2.79 as the cheap stuff doesn't help much after wearing a helmet for an hour ) and cat food (£2.76)..so a hefty £32.45 on food.. but like I said I do not scrimp on eggs, and butter..bought peanut butter to eat with apples as a high-energy snack..(£3.19) and the fruit ( bananas, apples, and oranges don't come cheap any more )...

And I have been reading more about tea leaves and how the workers are treated.. Clipper Organic Fairtrade only from now on so I will have to go easy on them. Got to boxes at £2.55 each. So all in all not a lot of food..:rotfl:

I have managed to shred all that stupid paperwork I had transported from one house to move to another, I have cleared up space under my bed. I intend to get 8 boxes, all matching to put everything in...

My bookcase has shrunk again and since I didn't send off the books to Amazon last time I am going to have another go and see if I can increase it from £32...

Have vacuumed, visited the local Mr T and Costcutter for emoty boxes. Packaged up enough to send home to Ireland as they are Mummy's so they have freed up more space..

Clothing and eBay next... wish me luck!!!!

Hope you Mum's are having a splendid day!!!

    Onwards and Upwards....

  • Afternoon all - well I've been sprung - left my last post open and DH found it - I was momentarily mocked before I [STRIKE]smacked him around the head with the frying pan[/STRIKE] told him that it was for his car fund so get with it or I'd buy him the baby bus (this is a decrepit old banger owned by a friend who managed to convince her husband it was his vehicle of choice - drove it for 12 months and then he bought himself a defender!). :rotfl:

So dinner last night was lovely - ok it was a bit slow coming but when it did it was very nice - cobra was the beer of choice and I am open to sponsorship if they are reading :D we finished with a nightcap at a local cider pub - it was oldschool and very fab - the benefits of living out west. Got a cider tasting in our village next month  Anyway the whole night came in at £43.70 which is £6.30 under budget!!

Today a sfd - all good - finished another three aprons and its snowing!! How is that helpful - I have a shed load ending on Fleabay, currently with the couple of ama*on books that went I'm at about £40 but hoping it will go up!! Anyway being able to post things in the morning would be useful!

Oooh and mothers day cards - currently up to 5 with only two kids all I can say is they are prolific!! :D Very cute though!

Enjoy all - Love LAGL xx

  • Checking in for today - sorry to have missed yesterday.

Not a very MSE weekend - yesterday went and ran a load of errands and the total was quite shocking. Will check the pence tomorrow and update totals but it's not going to be pretty . . .

And I've missed listing anything on eBay due to being totally unorganised. But I have photographed a whole lot of things for future posting.

Hope everybody's is doing well and feeling positive.

Evening everyone, I went for a little nap this afternoon and just woke up - doh!

I'm joining in this mass MFF ebay-athon! I have a few things ready to list but there are more that I wanted to due to the free listing weekend but oops, it's too dark now to take photos. I'll spend the next few hours listing (with an explanation that the photo will be uploaded tomorrow!) so that I don't miss out.

[STRIKE]I have a few items ending tonight so, after fees, postage and my minor indiscretional spend yesterday, I'll be able to pay at least £20 off my credit card :)[/STRIKE] Edited with a 9pm update to say that all my ebay items ended with bids :) Two have paid up and, after paying fees and paying off my little spend from yesterday, I managed to pay another £20 towards my credit card bill so I'm happy. Didn't list as many items as I wanted to tonight, but I have a few on there. Just need to be better organised for next time!

Continuing the spring clearout theme, I now have 2 black bin bags sitting in my room - one for rubbish and one for clothes that are either for ebay/charity shop or the clothes bank. The place is in chaos (not helped by my siesta) so I better get on with things.

Another SFD for me - beans on toast for dinner means I don't need a supermarket shop for a few days. I'm busy for the next few days but have a day off on Wednesday and will meal plan and batch cook my little heart out!

Til then, my month so far looks like.....

    SFD = 7
    Food Spends = £12.83/£50
    Petrol Spends = £50/£50
    Misc Spends = £34.40/£100
    Money made = £36.88/£100

Gosh so much catch up reading to do. Watching Mayday recording, I'll catch up after that and the dishes. Made another 14£ on eBay and listed a lot more. Had another few NSDs and trying to make another 5 next week (apart from eBay postage which doesn't count).

See ya again in about an hour

EDIT: Had another 2 inches of snow today, so no cycling tomorrow :( Too tired so will catch up tomorrow

  • Happy mothers day to all the mummies!!!
Have had a lovely day being spoilt with homemade goodies by my kiddies - homemade cards, hand decorated candles, sewn fabric 'shabby chic' doves and hearts - just gorgeous and so much more precious than any shop purchased gifts.
Was hoping to list some items on ebay today but just ran out of time. Will keep hold of them till next free listing weekend.
Off for an early night before another busy week starts tomorrow at some incredibly unsociable hour!

Evening all - just popping in for a quick update.

Today is SFD number 9. My ebay total has risen sharply to £74.17 and I am feeling quite positive. Today I have spent the day listing and have nearly 30 items on - some for 99p but its all adding up.

Keep going everyone - its halfway house on friday.

Happy Mothers Day everyone and hope you all have had a good weekend.

Been working out budgets this evening and have worked out that I have spent £110.25 in the first ten days of this challenge, that includes everything that isn't direct debit bills. Had hoped it to be far lower :( and am going to really try my best to make this week a really cheap one.

Learnt a lot of lessons this week, namely that certain people in my circle think the world owes them and should pay for them. Whenever I go places with these people I always end up spending a fortune and I am certainly not rich! Seems very one sided and I always go away feeling like a right mug; not even having had a good time really. So I really need to take a step back. Grrrr! <rant over>

More positively, made £13.37 on six eBay items that finished today and have listed 37 more. One of which already has a bid for £15 so I am crossing my fingers people will bid for my tat, sorry, precious, very valuable items ha ha.

This week will be better x

Hi everyone, hope all mummes have had a lovely day.

I have just got back from DD3's and have had a lovely afternoon with her and for tea DD1 came and so we were all together:) had a great time. Just wish DD2 was here but as she lives abroad I will have to wait:(

Anyway feel as if Im struggling a bit this month and finding it hard to get motivated, not sure why but perhaps a new week and my few days off will get me back onto the straight and narrow.

Tomorrow Im staying in as expecting a parcel delivery, not mine but DD3, as she works all day and Im off she has asked for some baby stuff to be delivered to me, so at least she wont have to queue for ages at her local sorting office that is difficult to get to and no where to park:(

So off for lurk and thenan early night as I want to be up and ready to start some decluttering tomorrow

    Jxx
