Another SFD today.that's 4/25. Great to hear how everyone is doing so far - free phones, new homes, overtime and great deals on loo rolls. Manky salads and wailing tots aside it's all going well. Keep up the fight fellow contenders, we will won through and make NSK so proud.

Hi all popping in for a quickie, spend day today but only on petrol, ys onions, milk and soap powder, lacking in veg deals so frozen and tinned will have to do until next SD, spent £31.50 so okay on that front. In awe of 5 SFDs but still hoping to make up.

Made chicken korma with rice, boiled the bones for broth and two of the thighs, baked the skins crispy intended for doggy treats but ended up being half eaten by the boy teens! Lastly container which chicken came in now sitting filled with soil in and more seeds for yummy salad, no waste at all.
Am experimenting with using half the soap powder recommended and have diluted conditioner by 50% into two bottles so may be able to half usage and cost.
Packed lunch sitting in fridge with jacket potato and chicken korma in, hope it doesn't leak.
Oh and good news - paid the last of the credit card (1) today £31.07, not as exciting when you are 'talking' to an automated system though. Next one to start on, will add to sig when I get very brave.

have yattered enough am off for a quick wander on the freebies board then to bed. nite all, another day in paradise tomorrow x

All this talk of food is making me hungry!!! I sat in one of London's squares this evening with my free hot drink using my token from the wombled newspaper :) Had a Matcha Latte along with a few biscuits I brought from home and watched the sun go down with some other like-minded city folk (well, like-minded by way of enjoying the sunshine. I can't imagine any of them walked half a mile to get a free drink :)). It meant I wasn't hungry when I got home and now I'm starving thanks to all your yummy recipe sharing!

Had a spendy day today so my SFD total still sits at 4. Got to the Underground station and could not find my Oyster card anywhere  so I had to break into my purse and pay for a ticket (it's a PAYG Oyster so I've not lost anything, it's just annoying that I had to use cash when my card was already loaded for the month :mad:) Since I was spending, I bought a mother's day card and a birthday card (plus 2 stamps) and popped into the supermarket and picked up a few bits of food to see me through the rest of the week. Oh, and I filled up on petrol as well so the SFDs will be back on from tomorrow!!

Interesting talk about living accommodation. I walked past an estate agent in Chelsea this afternoon and the cheapest property for rent in the window was a studio at £485 per week! So, Chelsea's out then? The property guardian concept sounds interesting though.....

I'm trying out three separate purses this month, along with a colour co-ordinated spreadsheet style tracker. One purse for food spends, one purse for misc spends and one purse for my mystery shopping float. It's working really well for me and everything is more regimented than before. I'm getting excited each night when I get home counting the cash in each purse and checking it against my receipts and spreadsheet - so far, all present and correct!!

    So, my March so far.....
    SFD = 4
    Food spends = £12.83/£50
    Petrol spends = £50/£50
Misc spends (can't think of a better name but basically everything else) = £18.89/£100

Did the food shop yesterday, so sfd didn't happen as predicted. Also bought coat hooks for the doors.....7 years its taken me to achieve somewhere to hang my dressing gown. Oh the shame!! Also bought done food colouring and batch baked biscuits and cookies with youngest. Quite mse cos next time i will have everything we need. Blagged 3 free hanging basket baskets so will be going to the woods on a moss gathering session with the kids soon to pad it out and then off to see the aged p to raid his garden for cuttings.

Haircut today but I've taken the money out yesterday to cover that. So my purse is staying home.
    Good luck guys. L2B.x

    Morning all

Just had a quick read through. I went to see a friend last night. She offered me a glass of wine, then one glass lead to another - and another - until I had drunk the best part of a bottle. This was a seriously bad idea on a Tuesday night when I had to be up for work in the morning, especially when you are in your mid forties and not much of a drinker. I was late to bed too. Bleugh.

So, slight hangover aside, things are going well. I am struggling with SFDs. I have a small fridge so need to make regular trips for milk and fresh stuff although I am keeping within my £70 a week food budget so thats the main thing I guess.

Spent just £13 on Mother Day for both Mums. Bought the Aldi garden planters for £4.99 each which are really pretty. I know my Mum wouldnt want anything expensive anyway and I have got a few birthdays coming up.

Right, need to get a shower and get woken up, busy day ahead!

    Hey all...

Potato, onion & cheese bake huh? I tried making that... do *not* use too much milk ha ha - I *did* and it was still swimming after 45 minutes in the oven :( Then again... cooking was never my strongest suit lol.

I swapped my Pepsi Max addiction for fizzy spring water... the bubbles trick you into thinking it's an unhealthy drink lol... I sometimes put natural cordial in - but quite like it on its own too now.

Day off today - not going out the front door though!!!

Today will = SFD number 3

Feel like I need to do at least *one* thing productive today... Will check in later tonight and let you know what I ended up doing!!!

    :)

    Hi everyone
Gosh everyone is sooo busy these days and Im still sat her in my pj's:)

Today is a SFD as llike Abundant Im on a day off and NOT stepping out of the front door. According to my list (I love lists!) I am cleaning the downstairs (which I mostly did yesterday), doing my one item of ironing:D and then going out into the garden for a bit more tidying up, I have found some seeds from last year and I already have some compost so think I will see if theres anything I can start off early. Oh and Ive already hung some washing out. got to these things done whilst the suns still out.

Toonight for dinner is lasagne, but tomorrow I think I will try this Pot and cheese pie as I seem to have everything in (and another meal from the freezer will be allocated to next month!) and whilst the ovens on I think I will have a go at some jam crumblies but made with mincemeat (left from Xmas) instead of jam - thats if I can find the recipe:)

Anyway off to get dressed and get hoover out, report back in later

    Morning all,

£4 of my grocery money left for this week, need to buy bread rolls, cold meat and maybe some cheese (if I can stretch that far) for lunches for rest of the week. Some of my grocery money though has gone in the change pot (any change in purse less than £1 coin at the end of the day goes in the pot) so doing really well this week :)

    Morning Chickadees..

So glad a good few of you have checked in!!!

THAT dress did not sell on eBay last night. The store won't give me a refund - turns out the girl that sold it to me is the Manager???? The item was sold on behalf of someone else - weird! I have to go in tomorrow and exchange £155 worth of dress for stuff I don't need. There is a lesson in itself. NEVER BUY SOMETHING IN A HURRY!!!!:mad:

I shall be chosing carefully and placing everything I get back on eBay.

Someone has not recieved their eBay postage from me when it was sent in February. I now need to find out what happened to that ( she did not ask for recorded posting ) otherwise eBay will probably take money off me as they seem to favour the buyer over the seller.:mad:

I am not in a good NSK mood today. Funny how :T:T:T can go to :mad::mad: so fast!

    Onwards and Upwards though....
