    Hi all,

As I'm now in my PJs and not going to leave the house again today, I am happy to declare my second SFD of the month. However Friday was a massive spend day for me (£273) but it was all planned spends which I had been needing since about the middle of February, including petrol, pet stuff, nappies for baby, etc. It should last me a few weeks though so I don't feel too guilty.

Everyone sounds so positive. I am finding now that it actually gives me more of a buzz to declare a SFD than to go shopping which is great.

Very good day, even though it was a spend day.

Went to farm shop as planned, and only bought eggs, potatoes & veg (as planned!). Also bought bread and milk from corner shop.

Made some stem ginger and dark chocolate chip cookies earlier, so enjoying one (or maybe two :) ) with some tea.

I shouldn't need to get any milk until Tuesday and shouldn't need to get any other food in until next Saturday (and even then it should only be fruit, veg and eggs as I stocked the freezer last month).

Feeling very positive about this challenge at the moment :D

Hope you all enjoy the rest of your afternoon.

    See you tomorrow!

Thriftylass amazing how everything seems to happen at once isnt it! My kids have their birthdays in November and January so with Christmas in the middle it always seems like a never ending round of present buying.

NannyG, how lovely to be so involved in the arrival of your new grandchild. I have always been lucky to have my parents on hand to help (and we get on well), but it means a lot, especially as I have friends who dont have that kind of relationship with their parents.

Done quite well this weekend. Spent £3 on bread and milk yesterday and £3 on my dog training class but thats all. So had a good weekend without spending which is brilliant.

We have also managed without the heating on at all since Friday, we have a woodburner so have been using that but we have oil heating which costs a fortune. Have just put it on now for a bit but I am hoping it stays milder now so I dont have to use it!

I'm with you Jody. I have just looked at the sack of potatoes and there's 3 left in the bag - and they look rather sad. I REALLY don't want to buy any veg before next weekend:(. However I do have a couple of jackets in the freezer so perhaps I will eek out with these, rice and pasta!

Although I have alraedy decalred a SFD todya I just needed to pop back and say that I think I have broken my ebay duck :j. It might only be a 99p bid on an item finishing in 4 days time but its a good sign - right?

Night night all - and please keep posting. I am addicted to reading the posts now!

  • Afternoon all. Checking in with with SFD 2. Has been a productive day - cleaning and lesson planning this morning, family roast lunch at mums and then more cleaning and lesson planning this afternoon. Have made lists for my lists and feeling reasonably organised at the moment.
Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend.

Poodle checking in  Well I need to pop out shortly for milk and bread so no SFD here I should have been more organised  we have had a quiet weekend after out spendy Friday but lots of jobs done. We took the dogs out for a lovely walk but they dissapeared off and found a dead deer, must have not been dead long as one of the dogs appeared with its heart, another with its liver (or something_pale_) and me and the kids were trying to get them away. About 10 mins later we let the dogs off again only for the biggest dog to dissapear off and return with the deers head in his mouth:eek: all the other dogs were chasing him it was a nightmare. Anyway eventually we got in control :o and lets just say the dogs are not feeling much like their biscuits this evening .
Anyway, having a couple of friends round for a glass of wine tonight will be only the 3rd glass since NY so good going for me!:A

    Evening all:)

Poodlegirl, Crazy cat and Yorkshirelass, its great being so involved with DD3 and baby, we are close, infact Im really close to all 3 DD's, as I bought them up on my own, and her husband is a darling as well and treats me as his own mum as well (his own mum lives a few hundred miles from here) Anyway another DGC will be lovely as DGD1 is now 8, DGC2 is now 6 and lives abroad so it will be great to have another baby in the family:)

Been at work today and fell asleep when I got in, so after talking to all 3DD's (:)) I now cant be bothered to cook tea, so will have some cheese on toast I think. Anyway another SFD so thats another in the bag.

Hope everyone is keeping well and keep warm cos its freezing cold here
