Does anyone know if you can make and then freeze mashed potato - this would save even more time in evenings! Does it defrost and reheat ok?

Becky, I freeze mash but I find reheating it from frozen in the microwave is best. I left it to defrost once and it turned watery and sloppy, urgh! Usually only takes about 3 mins to heat through.
Saturday shop this morning but there's not much of my £50 for the week left, mainly because Hubby announced this morning he'd not bought his nephew a birthday pressie so had decided to stick £10 in the card which I'd not budgetted for:mad: Spent £7 on veg and £14 in HB (included wine for tonight as I thought I'd be under budget, Hubby!)
Change has all gone in the holiday fund money box, (almost £5) leaving me with £7 til next Saturday:D0 -
Hi All,
Well another spend day for me - well done to all those racking up NSD's!!
I haven't been very naughty though - had planned to buy a couple of photo frames last night online for mothers day - frame + photo of Grandkids = happy mothers without too much expense. Anyway online was pricey and you cant tell how "nice" the cheaper frames are from a picture. Went to the shops when in town for DD ballet class this morning (Ballet - why the flip did we start that - I have issues - the ballet shop lady terrifies me and I have to spend a whole Sunday soon at "THE SHOW"). Anyway picked up two lovely frames for under £10 for both.
Also Poodlegal I feel your pain also posted off the passport applications - I too got stung for £10 for two lots of photos in a camera shop - and no he couldn't just print two of each kid - I asked! It gets worse - the passports cost nearly £100 and they only last five piggin years!
Anyway, postage and frames - all legit - honest guv!!
Keep going - surely tomorrow Ill manage my first NSD.....

Oh seems March got off to a mixed start browsing through recent posts. But I got a good feeling, this will be a good one, just a few start up hickups.
Had a really good day so far, got up early with the wee man as hubby was nursing a hangover. Went to B&Q to get new wellies, pots, soil (all for my seedling of tomatoes, pepper, etc), a mouse trap for our kitchen (the catfood started having suspicious holes) and a new latch for DS room door (got locked in a few weeks ago when it broke, fine without it but sometimes like to keep the cat out). Then did the big grocery shop (will update my food and other budgets for this on Monday as my excell spreadsheets are at work) and now have a YS leg of lamb slow roasting in the oven. Then took DS to the playpark, did the chores but didn't manage the zoo as DS decided to start his nap in car then (didn't sleep earlier surprisingly). So now just chilling and eating left to do.

I think I had a SFD today but am not sure. I was at a patchwork class all day - the cost of which had been budgeted for. I did take my own lunch and did not spend any extra on fabric etc so think that I can claim this one.44 day challenge
1. Pay £650 off overdraft (£ 288/ £650)
2. Lose 12 lbs (4.5/ 12)
3. Use YNAB everyday (6/44)0 -
:hello:
I realise I missed popping in yesterday! Great start..!
Good news: SFD yesterday. :T
Mixed day today - £48.93 doing the stock-up food shop, the cupboards really were getting bare! I got my car cleaned (I know, I know, I ought to do it myself, but I hate it sooo much, and I only get it done about twice a year!) and pumped up the tyres.
Made an "elevenses lumberjack cake" (from a river cottage baking booklet) this afternoon, used up some dates that had been hanging around in the cupboard, and some apples that were getting wrinkled. Smells great, but I'm yet to taste it!
Have also batch cooked a big spag bol base, its cooling now ready to freeze, and cooked up the sausage ragout for tonight - just pasta required when Mr Lotti arrives. Washing has been on, dry cleaning collected (another bi-annual occurence, I got ketchup on my winter coat) and feeling organised!“Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goals.”

Checking in with my 1st SFD
although hubby did buy himself water butt. I told him that under no circumstances will he be allowed to use our metered water to water his plants this summer so he better do something about it. Bit peeved though as we went to JayTF and found a butt and stand reduced from £40 to £20. Got to the till and the lady only put the stand through totalling £9.49! Things like that always happen to him, never me!:rotfl: Oh well still a bargain.

I do! (My housemate does too, so either we're both mad or it is fine!) A few minutes in the microwave, stir with a fork once or twice during cooking. That was Thursday's supper actually, casserole and mash both from the freezer!“Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goals.”

Afternoon All,
Checking in, today & yesterday seem to be non stop spending and i'm going out for dinner tonight! I don't want to spend money! Will plan my week so minimum money spent!
Eh xx0 -
Afternoon Everyone
I didn't feel like going out today so it's another SFD
Will definitely have to go to the shop tomorrow though ~ milk, bread, fruit and veg are running very low.
Have a lovely evening all!!0 -
Hi all, well turns out I needed some bits for tonight's dinner but went to mr m instead of my usual high end supermarket (always feel overcharged wherever I go though?!).anyway as it was a spend day made sure I got all I need so the rest of the week should be spend free.
Not a great start to have 2 days spending but I did take a list and didn't deviate other than fruit that dd1 requested and now how have full cupboards and the onions...amazing how many of my dishes have onions in them!
Overall I know I am further into budget than should be on day 2 but confident that it will balance out.
So many of you have done really well...keep going as you motivate me to do better whilst hitting your own targets! Well doneHappiness is wanting what you have...0
