You can list books on Green Metropolis, think you get £3 per book sold but not £100 sure... Google it? :)

Thanks, thought about that too. Not sure why people buy them there though as you get them for pennies at amazon, well if they sell. Might try out a few more popular ones and see what happens.

    March Day One!!!

    Budgets for the month
    £160.00 - Food
    £100.00 - Petrol
Other spends - Mothers day, holiday bits £100.00

I'm being a stricty McStricty this month! And the light at the end of the tunnel is that in 7 weeks time we'll be in the Sun. And it'll be worth it! Good news is that we've already managed to pay off half of the holiday and put a wee bit of spending money away (we won't take much), which means that by doing this we've only added 2 weeks on the dfd rather than a month. joy. :j

    £0 spent :j
    £0 extra earned :o

Afternoon all - day one and its my first SFD:j

I have included my budgets in my signature but my month goes from 22nd to 22nd so you can see that I have made a dent in already. For those newbies to these challenges I keep a record of my bank balance on the 2nd of each month. My first debt to clear is going to be my overdraft so i am keen to see this balance improve. In the two months that I have been doing Kat's challenge the balance has improved at this stage of the month by over £800. I am simply in awe of the power that mistress Kat has over us all - thankyou !

This month I have set my ebay target as £100 but will aim to raise more - its MOT, service and car tax month! Good luck to everyone. xx
    44 day challenge

    1. Pay £650 off overdraft (£ 288/ £650)
    2. Lose 12 lbs (4.5/ 12)
    3. Use YNAB everyday (6/44)

Happy 1st March everyone and good luck to all! :D

I'm pleased to report my first SFD! I need to get some fresh fruit and veg from the farm shop at the weekend but that is all. Mr T has sent me lots of vouchers (first one being £7 off a £50 shop) I'm so tempted to use it (I weirdly feel like I'm saving money in the long run?) but I have full cupboards/fridge/freezer ~ someone please tell me I am banned from using it!!

I was looking at my long term budget earlier and worked out if I can stick to my budget properly I could be out of debt by Dec '14 (that's nearly 15 months earlier than expected!). If that doesn't inspire me not to spend I don't know what will?

Hope everyone has a great evening :)

First good news of the month. We thought the nursery charge us every day of the year but apparently not for the 4 days they're shut over Christmas so they'll pay back about £150. Gonna get it next Tuesday, woohoo.

  • Yay to good news - Yay to the first of the month.

Think I've worked out this signature thing.... We'll find out in a minute!!

Kids heading for bed here, and Im heading for tea - a naughty naughty takeaway - the first for about 6 months and budgeted.

Spending the evening with DH and "Ted" on my cheap black friday Lovefilm deal.

Planning two spend free days this weekend and we get fed on Sunday as its a friends little boys dedication (think Christening with no water).

Oh speaking of water - 22 lengths in about 25 minutes - not Olympic standard but flipping marvelous for me!!

Hope you are all having a lovely weekend. With NSD's galore!!

    Hi everyone,

My budget for the month is -
    Petrol £240
    Food £200-£20 = £180
    Other planned spends £250
Total budget for the month £670

It sounds like a lot when I see it written down like that, but there is a toddler, baby and expensive husband in my household!! It would be lovely to end the month under budget though..... Good luck to everyone in meeting the challenge this month.

Well just checking in for my 1st day on this challenge. I've spent £3 buying a lottery and euromillions ticket. It's definately not an essential spend but you have to be in it to win it as they say. No spends intended for tomorrow though so i'll be off the mark soon enough. Need to sort out fleabay aswell - i think i've sold pretty much everything of value so the £100 target will be challenging.

    Hi all!

I've taken out £50 to last me the week. This will cover the veg and other fresh bits I need to buy for the week, trip to our friend's on Sunday and a cheeky bottle of wine for tonight as we don't need many groceries this week.
