Back of the class for you JP: this is a non-EU airline flying from a non-EU airport, so the Reg doesn't apply. If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide

I was wondering if anyone had any joy with United recently and what their current stance is?
We were delayed by 3hrs leaving Heathrow for Chicago on August 21st due to an issue with a door not closing and then we missed our transfer to Orlando, they put us up in a hotel but we were still 19hrs late arriving at Orlando, I'm starting my claim tomorrow0 -

Mr Welshblue,
I'm in the process of claiming against United for a 7 hr delay to N.York in September. United wouldn't give us any exact reasons although we had been given 3 different ones from checkin staff and the pilot. I've filed a small claims court form and ae waiting to see if they defend - the deadline was Monday and I haven't heard from them although the court work to a 5 day turnaround of paper, so a reply from United could be sat on someone's desk. Next Monday is the day I can officially apply for a judgement by default so fingers crossed - watch this space as I will up date0 -
Hi Shell69,
I am not sure if my pm's are getting sent to you ive tried 3 times. Anyway this is the information you need. It makes no difference that the incoming flight was late in leaving Newark. Its the fact that your flight was late in leaving the Uk there for causing a knock on effect and causing you to miss your connecting flight.
Article 7 of Regulation (EC) No 261/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 11 February 2004 establishing common rules on compensation and assistance to passengers in the event of denied boarding and of cancellation or long delay of flights, and repealing Regulation (EEC) No 295/91 must be interpreted as meaning that compensation is payable, on the basis of that article, to a passenger on directly connecting flights who has been delayed at departure for a period below the limits specified in Article 6 of that regulation, but has arrived at the final destination at least three hours later than the scheduled arrival time, given that the compensation in question is not conditional upon there having been a delay at departure and, thus, upon the conditions set out in Article 6 having been met.
I hope this helps

hi
I'm trying to claim from American Airlines and having real trouble finding an address - the one in Hounslow doesn't exist, and I can only find a PO box in Harmondsworth.
I've searched this thread and FAQs to no avail - someone out there must know - can anyone help please?
In hope!
;66505127]Yes thanks - however you will see from my post that I had in fact found that one, but it is a PO box and therefore not ideal to issue a claim against.
Can anyone else be more helpful? Thanks
I assumed you meant a PO Box with no obvious physical location. What's wrong with this; why is it not "ideal"?

I had two claims paid out (eventually) writing to Virgin's address which includes a PO Box. If you use the address they give on their own website, I would have thought that was the right thing to do but that's just me.0 -
The bottom line is the address with which the business is registered at Companies House. This is the legally "binding" address, unless an alternative is given. If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide
