I know it's difficult but I am glad that you have your answer. I'm sure you have lots of lovely friends and family. These are the people who you need to surround yourself with not the users and abusers that sometimes cross our paths.Mortgage: Aug 12 £114,984.74 - Jun 14 £94000.00 = Total Payments £20984.74

Ah Koala I'm genuinely sorry to here that hun but relieved you saw through her, she is not worth of your friendship .Hopefully you can move on quickly and forget her, you are bound to feel hurt
and you come across as being too nice a person to deserve that treatment.

Thank goodness the "friend" wasn't smart enough to shmooze you and manipulate you into believing that the friendship was back on before extricating the cash from you....
Hopefully this is closure for you and you can shut the door finally on the friendship, wish her all the best but not get emotionally involved. xx
Sadly she did actually try that but wasn't able to fully mask the incredible resentment that she clearly harbours in relation to me. Unfortunately there were too many snide comments amongst what she was saying to me for even me to miss. I appreciate that she has suffered what is to me unimaginable heartbreak and devastation, but like I was told here plenty, I was in no way personally responsible for it and really didn't like being made to feel like I was.
Saddest thing is even now knowing what I do about her feelings I would still probably contribute a reasonable amount if I didn't actually feel under such constant personal attack.0 -

Never allow her for one more instance make you feel under personal attack, no one has the right to do that to you, as you say you feel terrible for her situation but You are not responsible
Don't take anything she said and give it any thought, she's not worth it and your worth more:D0 -
I have a friend who intimidates me, she is more of a frenemy....I saw her last week and she said something to me like "You always give up easily don't you" which is only true if I'm unhappy in a situation, if I want something or love someone I will fight to the end, when she said that I knew she thought of me as weak and I didn't like the way I looked through her eyes, I don't see myself that way. It was a like a slap in the face when she said that.
I won't be contacting her again.....listen to the wake up calls and look out for the small signs, let's surround ourselves with good people who are kind and fun and supportive, not ones who are jealous and bitter and want to belittle us xx0 -
If your up to it, when your DH returns you may wish to show him this thread and explain what has happened. So there is no misunderstanding should he have contact with her on the gaming site.
I personally would not dwell on her issues and concentrate on making your DH's homecoming the best ever.Mortgage: Aug 12 £114,984.74 - Jun 14 £94000.00 = Total Payments £20984.74

So she can't even be pleasant to you when asking for money?
How is it she manages to stay in contact with your OH online? Surely if she's so upset she must not be in contact with anyone who has kids; why single you out for the underlying rage? And why not your OH as well?Sanctimonious Veggie. GYO-er. Seed Saver. Get in.0 -
How sad that infertility could turn what would seem a pleasant honest person (as you were friends with her for a long time) into such a bitter wicked woman. I expect all who have suffered the pain of infertility here and could understand the feeling of desperation would say that they would never let it make them seek that low. Infertility is tough, but it doesn't give you any rights to be revengeful and manipulative. She will end up very lonely if she continue on that road, and she will only have herself to blame.0

I always put lots of effort in to make sure he knows just how much we all love and miss him0 -
I have a 'friend' like this as well (starting to think a lot of us have one from reading this thread!).
We've been friends for about 13 years and we've had our ups and downs (I was one of the few who actually stuck around when she had a child) but she still has to make those little niggling comments that make out she's better than I am.
For example, at the moment I'm on a bit of a diet (just started Weight Watchers) and said how i started at 11st 4lbs, but after 2 weeks had lost just over 2lbs and was really excited to see a 10 at the beginning of my weight on the scales - her comment was oh yes well I'm already a 10, as I've always been smaller than you and I don't need to diet just eating better (all she needed to say was 'Well done, that's really great' and not mention her weight at all!).
Also, I got promoted about 8 months ago to a job I love (managing our internal systems) and all I get from her (whenever their is the slightest issue) is well your responsible for systems you sort it out. She even did it in a meeting with people from another department the other day. I'm not one for confrontation either so just went quiet and changed the subject
koalamummy you have done the right thing meeting and catching up as it was what you wanted to do, and I hope this woman eventually realises what a good friend she lost.0
