It was a bit of a harsh and upsetting learning experience but I will no doubt get over it. Still at least there is no doubt now and no need for what ifs.0

It was lovely seeing her and catching up some more but it became evident quite quickly that she would be happy to reestablish and tolerate my friendship as a means to an end rather than any great desire for my company.
In hindsight I think you did the right thing in going. You can now have closure and have seen for yourself what her true motives were, rather than faceless people on the internet telling you. You can go on with your life now without a speck of guilt.0 -
Sorry to hear this OP. It is her loss like most posters said. Take care of yourself and do not let it get to you.0

Thank goodness the "friend" wasn't smart enough to shmooze you and manipulate you into believing that the friendship was back on before extricating the cash from you....
Hopefully this is closure for you and you can shut the door finally on the friendship, wish her all the best but not get emotionally involved. xx0 -
Sorry to hear that Koala but I'm glad you've realised this now rather than further down the line a few grand lighter x0

I'm sorry it didn't work out the way you wanted KM.Try to be a rainbow in someone's cloud.0

koalamummy no one should have to tolerate a friendship as a means to an end:eek:
Silly woman lost a darn good friend in you;) wish her well in your head, send her on her way and develop and establish true friendships that are 50/50 give and take and certainly no money involved:D0 -
