    OP's boyfriend's son is 17.

OP, you are not actually a stepmum - why do you refer to this boy as your stepson and yourself as a stepmum on several threads? You are his father's girlfriend. Your boyfriend moved in with you and dragged this poor kid with him. The boy sounds profoundly depressed, tbh, and you sound like a nightmare. I feel really sorry for him :(.
I'm an adult and I can eat whatever I want whenever I want and I wish someone would take this power from me.

Putting opinions on the rights and wrongs of the situation aside, I'm just sharing a moment's juvenile amusement that a username involving splishing and splashing is not on the pro-wash side. :D

Great words there although I don't think I am a nasty person. All this is telling me is to basically shut up and put up, not really in my persona. Thanks for the insulting comments towards me, I doubt you would last five minutes with me either. And actually yes, there is now a smell coming from his room and no, I am not imagining it!

So, I give in, put a nose peg on in my own house and he continues to live a life of slobbery - oh yeah, sure I am going to accept that.

I think what is trying to be said is don't stress so much about it, that the other threads have said a lot about it and even though it was resolved for a while it is back to square one that it will not continue to be forever, that there is more to it, like your bf son being depressed or unhappy or isolated or lonely a cry for help rather than the non washing business, do you ever listen to him? talk to him? take him out one to one? buy him clothes? spend quality time with him? Does he pick up on how much resentment you carry around for him? Does he think you do not like him and whatever he does or says he knows that?

Why not sit them both down and say either shape up or ship out and that you will not tolerate this disrespect in your own home.

If the DS is 17 there is not really much you can do to "make" him wash. if he was 7 you'd be in with a chance.

And here’s some more about my aversion to and avoidance of carcinogenic toxic stinky chemicals on this thread :

Do you wash new bedding before use?

    Jeezo, judgemental much?!

If I had been with someone for x years and lived with them as if we were married, I wouldn't think twice about calling their son my stepson........

I don't know what your attack on the OP is about, but try getting off your high horse, you don't know anything about what they feel comfortable calling each other!

Posters liek you are the reason why a lot of people have chosen not to use these boards!
