Iberia (since taken over by BA)
That is absolutely not the case, the two companies merged and formed a new organisation called IAG (International Airline Group) this company (parent company) owns BA and Iberia which operate, as before, as two completely seperate companies
http://www.iairgroup.com/phoenix.zhtml?c=240949&p=indexI am pursuing the claim with BA
You are probably wasting your time, you need to pursue the claim with Iberia.
P.S. as you wre blaming BA you should have put your post in the dedicated BA thread lower down the page, as it is Iberia there is a thread for other EU airlines that you should use.
Also looking at your dates you are pretty much out of time to claim anyway0 -

Do you really mean Iberia?
Iberia still operates as a airline and the claim should be made against them...there would be no responsibility for BA to deal with this just because they are part of the same group of companies
Alternatively if you meant bmi/bmi baby then you would be correct to deal with BA0 -

They were from Birmingham-Barcelona with Iberia (since taken over by BA) I rang a few days before our departure to check something about seats and was horrified to learn that apparently the flight had been cancelled months before. I had no notification of this. I had paid on my creditccard but this was not refunded. I spent two days hurriedly rearranging flights from Heathrow. This necessitated taking two cars and two car parking places in London. With three young children this was extremely stressful and expensive. I am pursuing the claim with BA but wanted to know whether the claim should be for the return flights, ie. douible the rates lised on the compensation guide.
Can I also claim for the extra costs?
You are almost out of time and need to start court proceedings before the six year anniverssary of your flight.0 -
You are almost out of time and need to start court proceedings before the six year anniversary of your flight.
But against the correct airline, which is not BA, otherwise you will be out of court time0 -
we went on a our honeymoon in 2007 to mexico after marrying in the lake district, we booked a package deal through direct holidays. We were delayed on our return journey for around 6-8 hrs. We were stuck in resort on A/I so was comfortable with food and drink etc. However was very stressful as was returning for a family wedding party the following day so was worried we'd be late for it! The reason for the delay was given as something to do with an fault with the plane which delayed the flight flying out to cancun and that had a knock on effect to us!
However, other than dates we went and who we booked with I have no other info! I'm not sure of the airline, flight number etc?? Anyone with any suggestions?0 -

Date may be a good starting point as close to 6 year cut off.0 -
Dear Bagpuss,
I recently experienced similar problems when trying to make a claim against Easy Jet for a flight back in 2008 from London Luton to Paris. I arrived over 4 hours late due to a "catalogue" of disasters.
Anyway I tried to claim myself but was sent the usual load of rubbish from Easy Jet saying that the engine failure that resulted in the delay (blah blah blah) was out of their control and so they would not pay. I left it at that for a while as I did not have the time to follow up.
Anyway a friend of mine then recommended a company called Blueway Limited to me who operate under flightdelayrefunds.com
who he had used and who had won him compensation for his previous delayed flight - they work on a no win no fee basis and only take 20% from any amount that they successfully claim back. I have now just received a credit of £410 (and this is after flightdelayrefunds.com took their 20%) into my bank account after they won my case for me. Just thought it may help anyone looking to make a claim or who is stuck with their previous claim as they certainly helped me (and like you I did not have all my original documents of my flight details/booking numbers etc) and all I had to do was send them some simple info.
Cheers and hope it helps

Mt wife and I were booked on TCX 933L from Heraklion to Glasgow on the 7th Aug 2008. It was delayed and we were shunted to a hotel overnight. (although that's a story in itself)
have emailed TC twice and both times they say that the technical fault to the plane was extraordinary but still refuse a refund despite the info in the website.
Anyone else been on the same flight or indeed been given the brush off by TC?
I'm new to the forum so please forgive me if this is in the wrong place0 -
