Yes it is how late you were on arrival/
  • I wrote to Easyjet to complain regarding a cancelled flight from Bristol to Geneva, we were then transferred onto the next flight which was over 4 hours after the original flight... this was the response I got so what do i do next.....
    Thank you for contacting easyJet.

I am very sorry to hear about the cancellation of your flight. We work hard to provide our passengers with a punctual and reliable service. Cancelling a flight is always the last resort as we understand how frustrating it is for you. In your case, unfortunately we had to cancel your flight for technical reasons. A situation like that is considered, under our Carrier's Regulations and European Law, to be outside our reasonable control. For this reason, I'm afraid we cannot offer you any compensation.

Thank you for taking the time to get in contact with me and let me apologise again for the inconvenience. I understand how frustrating it must have been for you.

What do I reply with???? Help please?? Thanks

That's hopeless! Write them a final Notice Before Action: there is a template in the FAQs on page one.
  • Hi
I am new to this so hope I am asking this correctly. :-)

I am hoping to find out if I have the right to compensation under European law for a cancelled flight booked with Lufthansa (european airline) from LA to Heathrow since Lufthansa used United Airlines as a carrier.

The flight cancellation was the carrier airlines fault (United Airlines) and caused a delay of over 24 hours. There were all sorts of other disruptions but Lufthansa and United Airlines both insist European law doesn't protect us since Lufthansa decided to use an non European carrier.

United Airlines didn't pay for over night stay, offer us refreshments while waiting for hours for a new flight etc. We haven't had any compensation so far except for an offer of some travel vouchers which don't even cover the price of another flight. :-(

I am really hoping someone might have the answer I am looking for since I am hoping that since we booked with an European airline and were flying to a European airport we are entitled to compensation. Does anyone else have experience of this? I just can't find the answer!

    Thanks in advance.

The answer is, unfortunately for you, no.

    Hi there,
Our flight was delayed by 5 hours due to an oil leak.
TC are adamant it is extraordinary circs and refuse to pay out.
Any advice on what to do next? Should I contact the CAA?

    Thanks
