    Hi there,

I have read through a bunch of stuff on flight delays/cancellations and compensation and my mind is still completely boggled over the whole thing!

Is anyone able to give a concise response as to how I should proceed?

    Thursday 13 June
    Flight TP232 (Lisbon - Casablanca) - Dep: 1220
    • Flight cancelled and all passengers advised thet were booked on to flight TP234 departing Lisbon at 1705 (4hrs 40mins later).
    • We were give a meal voucher for 16 Euro each to use in the airport before the new flight.

    Monday 24 June
    Flight TP233 (Casablanca - Lisbon) - Dep: 1440
    • Email received from Expedia 4 days prior to flights to advise the airline had changed my flights. Was unable to contact Expedia from Morocco so partner contacted on my behalf from the UK. Expedia gave details of alternative flight (a day later) and partner confirmed this would be acceptable.
    • Flight the following day departed 20hrs 40 mins after the original time I booked for.
    • Had to pay for lunch and dinner on the day I should have departed, breakfast on new departure day, plus an extra night in the hotel I was at.
    • Looking at the flight stats website this flight was cancelled.
    • I did also have to pay for a taxi from the airport to home as no one was available to pick me up from the airport as they would have been on the previous day.

    Flight TP358 (Lisbon - London Heathrow) - Dep: 1845
    • As per flight above on 24 June, however flight stats site advises this flight actually did go ahead so I assume it was the Casablanca - Lisbon leg of the journey that caused the problem.

I spoke to someone at the airline's customer service desk during my stopover in Lisbon and was given an email address to write to and was told to scan in my various receipts and write a brief covering email. That's all good but I'd be grateful if someone was able to advise as to what I should be hoping to realistically and reasonably be reimbursed for.

    Many thanks in advance.

    Nicola

1st flight €250 compensation unless the cancellation was caused by extraordinary circumstances
return flight the same plus reimbursement of hotels and meals
I assume they put you on another LIS-LHR flight to connect from your revised flight - you should not have had to buy a new ticket if you were on a single ticket

nothing for the taxi from the airport (contract with the airline ends when they get you to your final destination airport)

Many thanks for that Caz- much appreciated. Am now clear on what I can and should be asking them for. Realise that they'll probably try to wriggle out of it all but now I know where I stand I can pursue it with confidence!

They did indeed book me on an alternative Lisbon - London flight the following day that worked with the new Casablanca - Lisbon flight.

Thought as much about the taxi but thought I'd include it in my post just in case.

I assume it's required for me to include receipts for the hotel and meals when I send the relevant letter off to them?

Also- my aunt who is a New Zealand resident was also booked on the first flight on the 13th June with me. Would she also be able to put in for compensation on that flight as well?

    Thanks again.

Residency doesn't affect your entitlement to compensation. Claim for her as well (if on the same booking) or a separate claim if booked separately.

    Monarch ZB947 Paphos - Birmingham

Flight time should have been 21:40 when we checked in we were given a letter to say that 'due to technical problems with the monarch fleet' our flight had been delayed and the estimated departure time was 02:25. the flight actually took off at 02:45 which is just over 5 hours delay.

Is there a possibility of any compensation from this flight?

There is every possibility and absolutely no certainty.

I have posted this question on this thread as no-one offered a solution on the "MSE News:Flight delay compensation floodgates open" thread so I really hope someone can give me some advice - please? I could do with the proof of my flight delays to help with my claim but cannot find it anywhere. :( And yes, I have tried flightstats.

Can anyone recommend a safe website to get the stats for a chartered flight's times please? My flights were with Thompson and show as chartered so not covered by flightstats.com (although this is not clear until you have already registered with them and then searched for a flight - as I have already done ). Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

If you think you have a valid claim. A NBA letter with a 14 day response time.and then court if not satisfied.
