AF flight from Rio to LHR 6/8/14 delayed at stopover in CDG due to technical problems according to announcement at the time. Landed at LHR over 5 hours late.
AF have refused my claim on the basis that the flight delay was due to extraordinary circumstances as the plane was damaged by a foreign object on the runway. This was never mentioned at the time and AF refuse to give details of the incident which they say can only be supplied to the relevant authorities at their request.
How should I take this forward?.
Any assistance would be appreciated.0 -

I presume they must be talking about the CDG - LHR shuttle being damaged?, if so it sounds like the damage was caused prior to your flight?.
The way forwards is to have a thorough read of Vaubans superb guid and then to issue a LBA.
When they know you are serious they will be more forthcoming with information.
Good luck. Please read Vaubans superb guide. To find it Google and then download 'vaubans guide'.0 -
So, my first flight in over 2 years, KLM from LBA. Just pushed back after 15min delay, sat on apron, now 25mins and just been informed a small "technical issue". Might miss my connection in Amsterdam....If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide

Unlucky JP, hope you make it.
I used KLM from MAN to DXB recently and it went like clockwork.
Good luck with the rest of your trip.:)Please read Vaubans superb guide. To find it Google and then download 'vaubans guide'.0 -
One thing you REALLY don't want to do is to delay JP on a flight, have a great time JP, I'm sure if you tell the crew who you are, that plane will soon get off the groundAfter reading PtL Vaubans Guide , please don't desert us, hang around and help others!

Will be 6 hour delay after 1 hour delay on tarmac at Leeds. JPs "pamphlet" bluetoothed/ emailed to a dozen or so people on flight. Dirty looks from stewardess.
(no Novice not that sort of dirty look) Claims already submitted whilst waiting at Amsterdam Schipol . You can run, but you have nowhere to hide KLM
If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide

What's more, despite giving them the opportunity twice, they didn't inform me of my rights under 261/2004. Quelle surprise. If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide

Well done, it's a shame too cos she was only 34kms short of it being 400 euros each. Still, thats what the rules state and something is always better than nothing. Please read Vaubans superb guide. To find it Google and then download 'vaubans guide'.0 -
