Is the next step to reply to KLM and then to contact the CAA or just go straight ahead and contact the CAA?
I can't answer your main question, but can confirm to do neither of the above.
In short, issue NBA, - if you haven't read Vaubans excellent guide already then read it for more info.
EDIT - Perhaps try and look at flights in and out of your destination airport to see if similar delays were experienced ?After reading PtL Vaubans Guide , please don't desert us, hang around and help others!

Thankyou, yes I've done that already and as it was a beautiful, non windy regular sort of normal day at Schiphol, I was surprised that they are rejecting the claim due to bad weather.
(http://schiphol.dutchplanespotters.nl/?date=2014-10-22 flights look fine to me!)
I've tracked the aircraft's movements for that morning and it appears that it was late setting off first thing in the day and it had a knock on effect, it did make some time up during the morning, but still resulted in my being delayed by nearly 20 hours, and therefore delay compensation should be payable.0 -
Just getting back to this after a few months focusing on other things. Would like to send an NBA, but unclear where I should be sending to. Would prefer an email address, but where to find one? Should I submit through the online claim form, as I did initially? Or is there some more direct email address? Can't find info anywhere in this forum...
(As mentioned, the flight was AF, booked through FlyingBlue; for some reason though, Delta handled all the correspondence thus far. Can I assume they have access to each other's files?)My bad. It was the Delta element that confused me.
Start a legal claim, or wait until Huzar concluded (could be 12-18 months away) or employ a NWNF legal firm to take on your case.0 -
On our flights Rome FCO - Amsterdam AMS - Manchester MAN the incoming flight to Rome was late arriving and then departing so we missed our connection in Amsterdam.
We were booked on a later KLM flight to Manchester with a five and a half hour wait (and EUR 10 vouchers for food/drink).
I made a claim via KLM website on Sunday 14th December and received a positive reply today Thursday 18th December offering EUR 400 each passenger cash or EUR 500 voucher.
I used the delayed flights template from the main site but to emphasise the missed connection aspect I amended the legal paragraph as follows:
"The judgements of the Court of Justice of the European Union in Tui & others v CAA and Folkerts v Air France confirmed the applicability of compensation for delay and late arrival having missed connecting flights as set out in the Sturgeon and Folkerts cases respectively. As such, I am seeking compensation under EC Regulation 261/2004 for this delayed flight and subsequent late arrival at my final destination."
Not yet received the money but it is looking hopeful.
UPDATE: 17/01/15 money received in full0 -
Just wondering if anyone can help me. In December 2007 I arrived at Amsterdam Schiphzl airport for my transfer to a Martinair flight. When I got to the desk there was nobody there, just bottles of water and no explantation of what was going on. I ended up having to sleep on a camping bed that the airport supplied for us. The flight didn't take off until the next morning, about 10 hours later.
My problem is Martinair only ship cargo now and not passagers and KLM do there passagers as KLM bought them out. So who do I send my compensation letter to, KLM or Martinair? Also does it make a difference if I bought my ticket through a travel agency.
Any help would be much appreciated.

You are out of time (6 years) to make a claim.0

On the moneysavingexpert website it is possible to claim back to 2005, harder but possible.

Any ideas who I send it to KLM or Martinair?0 -
Alas the MSE website is misleadfing at best. You can send a claim in but the airline can completely ignore you with impunity, no matter how valid your claim.
Why?
Because the English legal system limits any claim to a maximum of 6 years (statute of limitation) from the occurance, even if you have made a claim previously to the airline.
There is a chance the airline may pay out, but you are far more likely to win the lottery, or see an airtline with a 100% punctuality rate....If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide
