    Hi

I was on this flight too and easyjet claim that it was a hard landing into Mykonos and therefore the plane had to be checked. I don't remember the weather being bad in Mykonos so if they say there was another reason behind the hard landing i.e. technical fault, pilots decision/error then would this still be classed as the extraordinary circumstance they are claiming?

    Thanks your comments are appreciated

Hi I am claiming too, just now they have sent me the details saying it was a hard landing,

Did you have any luck claiming in the end from this flight?

    I was there too...

Many thanks for the help I got from Ich, Batman, Socrates & 111KAB yesterday while I was held up in Malaga. My wifi signal gave out and I couldn’t come back to you all as things evolved.

The Easyjet storyline was that the plane intended to fly from Glasgow to Malaga yesterday morning suffered damage from a bird strike on an earlier flight and couldn’t be used.

Easyjet then flew a rescue plane from Gatwick to Glasgow to collect the Malaga bound passengers. The rescue plane left Glasgow 2 hours 50 minutes late.

The flight made good time and arrived in Malaga before the three hour compensation time span was triggered for those passengers. They disembarked the passengers swiftly with military precision and the Glasgow bound customers, who were already lined up at the gate, were duly fired on board and into their seats. Within minutes we were on our way and landed in Glasgow with a total 2 hour 35 minute delay. No compensation due but happy to be home.

I think that we can tell from both events that Easyjet appear to be learning to work with Reg 261/2004. They pulled out all the stops to prevent hitting the three hour delay time mark and incurring the need to pay compensation. Hopefully, it will mean fewer lengthy delays for Easyjet passengers.

    Regards

  • I am starting this thread for those claiming flight delay or cancellation compensation from Easyjet.

Any posts regarding any other airline in this thread will be ignored (at least by me).

Hi I was on a delayed easyjet flight from Luxor in March 2013, easyjet are claiming there was no delay. But the delay was due to the flight being overfuelled and was then diverted via Milan, from memory approx a six hour dealy. How can they deny this

    How can they deny this

Who knows - but they may decide to do otherwise when someone has to produce a signed witness statement. If you are sure of your version of events, issue legal proceedings (having given them the usual NBA warning).

what does Flightstats show the arrival delay as?
  • 4 of us on this flight.
Only just got around to applying for compo last week.
Got email today saying they would pay 250euro pp except for one passenger who abandoned flight, they will get a full refund.

Just awaiting phone call to process payment, cant believe it has been so easy (thus far!)

    Nice one MSE!
  • Have i got a case?
When returning from Dalaman in Turkey to England we had several delays. According to Easy Jet, the delay was 138 minutes long, but this was just the delay in the rescheduled flight, it does not include the 30 minutes we had to wait in the aeroplane, before we could go to a landing bay, nor the 2 hour delay because the flight was rescheduled, due to a technical fault. We were not informed of the rescheduling of the flight until we arrived at the airport, although we had checked online before setting off to the airport, to make sure that there weren't any delays.

I have written to easyJet twice. The first time to state that I was making the claim (I actually made four, one for each member of my family). The second time, in response to their letter telling me that my claim had been refused. This was over 2 months ago and I haven't heard from them since.

any advice would be gratefully appreciated.
