  • Hello -

I see that a number of people have asked if you can claim for an Infant-on-lap, and a number of people have replied that you should be able to claim.

Does anyone have any reports of an infant claim being successful?

Just debating whether or not to even try with my 5.5 hr delay.

    Many thanks.
  • Hi all,

After initially turning down my claim Easyjet emailed me on 21st July 2013 stating the compensation had been processed to my card but would take 15-20 working days to go through. I also spoke to a supervisor on the phone who confirmed this.

After 20 working days with no payment received I emailed Easyjet back asking why the delay. Following a further email, they are still yet to respond to me. Now one month and one week later the money still hasn't appeared on my card.

Has anyone experienced a similar delay? Or anyone have any ideas how to proceed as they appear to be ignoring me now?

I tried to call the number the supervisor rang me on but it appears to be a platform number in India! (My card is still valid by the way).

    Any help will be appreciated...

    Hi

Just had a reply back from easyjet about our claim which was a technical fault with the plane which caused the flight to be cancelled. Easyjet offered us the next available flight the next morning which meant we were 12 hours late to Edinburgh

    However their email just says

The European Union compensation cannot be provided in this situation as the flight performed as scheduled

(Which it obviously did not) should I reply to their email and what should I say / quote

    Many thanks

    Go to the CAA.

The easyJet customer "service" department seems to be staffed with people who are only capable of producing single-line excuses that don't actually reflect the situation.

Cases the CAA refer back to them seem to end up in a department that actually know what they're talking about. It can take up to 8 weeks, though.

iandv could complain to the CAA about easyjet's response but in terms of the substantive delay point, I thought the concensus was that the CAA were at best no help.

    Thanks for the info guys

So is it best to write back again to Easyjet this time direct to the chief executive? or just go to the CAA?

What should I write to the CAA? The same letter that was sent to Easyjet?

    Many thanks again

Same old same old. Forget CAA, spend your time reading all the FAQs then send a template letter with NBA for compensation, await denial then go to small claims court.
(cut and paste from my mobile à la airlines)

I recommended the CAA because their intervention is what made easyJet back down in only their second email to me. Taking time out to follow that process is surely better than going straight to the legal route?

    Marks87 thanks

So is it worth replying to the easyjet email telling them that they are wrong and that I have passed on the case to the CAA?

Do I send the CAA the same letter that I sent easyjet originally ?

    Many thanks

Where was the flight to Edinburgh from? If it was outside the UK, the CAA will not touch it.

I'm afraid I must agree with JP on this: the CAA is in almost all cases a waste of time, as numerous posts on this forum will attest to.
