Actually, this was the email I sent them a week ago:
"Dear Sir,
In reference to the above flight, we would like to put forward a complaint as to the delay we encountered. Please note that my complaint is for the flight both me and my husband, XXX, have paid for (i.e. this is for 2 flight tickets we purchased. i.e. 2 seats as my infant child has been on my lap). I would like to emphasize that this was an extremely unpleasant wait of 5 hours with an infant. I assume its pointless to mention that our plans for the following day were completly ruined.
My sister was on the same flight (XXX) and my father already placed a complaint (case ref. XXX) but he did not apparently placed a complaint for myself and my husband. The result of his complaint was confirmed by XXX as: "Having checked our records, I can see that your flight was delayed due to security alerts. Under EC Regulations 261/2004, delay due to such situation is considered as 'non-extraordinary'. Therefore, I confirm that you are eligible for a compensation of EUR 600."
Thus, please process this separate complaint and inform me the case number and the confirmation that we will receive a compensation of 1,200 euro for the 2 seats purchased."
So from what I understand, I actually need to email them again saying I want compensation for my child as well? (I believe there was a reduced fare for an infant but I cant locate the detailed invoice for it)

Just read the guide...
"To qualify for compensation, each passenger needs to have paid a fare available to the general public. This means that children and infants do qualify for compensation, if they were not travelling on a free child place. Tickets bought with airmiles also qualify for compensation"

A free child place is exactly that - a place for a child or infant for which no money is paid. It usually given as part of a package holiday deal.
Most infants have to pay a small fee, if they are sitting on a lap, and you would contend that this is a "fare" to all intents and purposes. The airline however is likely to disagree. The CAA, unusually, support passengers on this point.

not sure David... but on the day the reasons for the delay were not due to security alerts at all... we were told that at first there was a technical glitch where they had to replace the plane, than the new one was not good for the flight cause of weight issue with the fuel so they replaced it again. than as there was a 5 hour delay, they had to add a stop over in Milan to replace the crew... all of this i gathered on the day from the flight update information on their website.
so not sure why they said it was due to security alerts but as long as they agree to pay...
Now I might have to fight for an extra 600 euro...0 -

I'm entaiteled to compensation but I'm not clear on something. Is the compensation per booking (1)? Per seats purchased (2)? Or per persons flying (3 as it was me, my hubby and my infant child)?
We had a flight delayed 5 hours with an added stop over with easyjet that I'm currently complaining about and my father who complained about my sister that was with us won a 600 eu euro for her.
I placed a complaint and asked for 1200 euro but now I wonder...

If you are requesting for flight delay compensation under EU rule, then it usually grants per passenger. And regarding your infant child, you can claim for an infant as long as you paid something for their ticket.0 -

Hi, Currently in dispute with Easyjet over refund under 261/2004 - flight delay last year.I had no responses so invoked a small claims court against them. They are disputing this claim, and it looks like it will be heading to small claims court, though a mediator may get involved first to try and resolve. Wanted some guidance, what are the potential further costs if I take the option all the way via court. I have trailed through stacks of leaflets but cannot get this defined. Anyone know, or have taken Easyjet to small claims and lost - do you have to pay their fees ? any other fees also? Any help would be appreciated as clearly I need to make a decision on weather its the right option to take.
Also if I did lose do I forfeit the opportunity to use a company like Bott and Co to to take forward a new claim on my behalf.?

You've paid the initial court application fee, presumably? So you'll also have to pay in due course the hearing fee (about £150-200, depending on the value of your claim).
In the small claims track, you are not liable for the others' legal costs if you lose - unless you have behaved unreasonably (which you won't have done). If easyJet bring witnesses, you could theoretically be asked to pay for their travel and any accommodation necessary. But I don't think I've ever seen anyone have to pay this (the judge decides).
Loads of people have taken the airlines to court. The challenge is not the financial risk, but the fact that it requires quite a bit of hard work. You shouldn't start the process if you're not willing to finish it (that would be unreasonable, and you might expose yourself to a counterclaim for wasting the airline's time.
