Hi Sammy
There are others best placed to answer your question but in their absence i would suggest the following.
Rather than have lengthy correspondence send them a notice before action letter indicating you will start county court proceedings against them without a satisfactory conclusion .
If you get no reply then start court proceedings indicate you are willing to use mediation when you get your allocation questionaire back .
That's what i intend to do next week if i do not get a reply to my letter.
Good luck0 -
We were delayed over 3 hours last October due to the pilot being taken ill. I had no idea I could claim anything - I just saw an article on the lunchtime news. Later that day I thought I will just send an e mail to Easyjet to ask. I went on their contact us section of the web site and wrote a sentence - including names (there were 3 of us) and flight numbers - which I still had in an old e mail. Two days later I was shocked and suprised to get an e mail back from someone called Karina at Easyjet stating I was entitled to 1200 euros!!!! All I had to do was complete a really easy claim form and send it back-I printed it - scanned it back in - as it needed signatures and sent directly back to Karina. Today I have received an e mail to say 1200 euros has been credited to my account!!! It hasn't hit the account but it usually takes a few days. WOW RESULT! The whole process took about 2 weeks.
We were also delayed on a Monarch flight a few years ago but I do not have the flight number or even exact date - does anyone know if I can still claim - I assume they have records? I have e mailed them too but no response.0 -

Can I just ask if at the time of claiming you had the booking reference please. It is the only remaining part of the information I cannot supply and they are asking for it as regards my claim. I have given them everything else, but they are asking for the Booking Ref although I havn't established whether or not this is compulsory. Thanks - sally
Well the other option you have is to write to them and state that they will be free to provide evidence to the judge that you wasn't on the flight. Words to that effect anyway. Turn it around on them.
A further option is a SAR (subject access report) (google it) where you can force them to reveal the passenger list with your name on it.

Hi all
First time poster, all help much appreciated. I have been in contact with easyjet for the last couple of weeks over compo for a delayed flight last year. Last week i received an email saying i will be compensated 3000 Euro total for 5 passengers (lucky me).
Had to fill in a consent letter, sent it off and got a call today to complete the refund. Gentleman on the phone then said money to be paid would be 2000 Euro! when i questioned this he said thats what he had on his screen,i mentioned previous email's i had received. He said he would get a manager to call me back on Monday to resolve this.
I have everything sent to me by email, will this stand up or will they try and fob me off?
All help and advice much appreciated.0 -

Where you you flying from/to when you were delayed, and how long was the delay?0 -
Just to keep my claim information up todate, I have managed to get my flight booking from Easyjet, so it confirms that the email I received from the Easyjet claims department is/was just a stalling tactic as they obviously could have got it so very easily from their system.
So I am now going to reply to the email requesting the booking reference and fingers crossed I will get the compensation so deserved. I would particularly like to thank Mark2spark for his input. Thank you - Sally0 -

Flying from Tenerife to Manchester and we were delayed for 5 1/2 hours. Having worked out distance and time delayed it should be 400Euros per person. There email said " I am happy to confirm that 3000Euro will be paid as compensation".0 -

Then is 2000 Euros - stop being greedy, and be grateful for the windfall!;)0 -
Our Easyjet flight in April 2012 from Gatwick to Rhodes took off on time but was unable to land at Rhodes airport because of strong cross winds and the plane was diverted to the island of Kos where we were told we would wait to see if the weather improved so that we could land back in Rhodes. After a long wait we were told we would have to spend the night on Kos, as the crew had used up their allocated hours and had to rest before they could fly again. After many delays and no food(!!) we were eventually found accommodation for the night - but the next morning we had to wait until the crew had had their allocated break before setting off. We eventually landed in Rhodes around 14 hours late. I applied to Easyjet for compensation - they replied that the delay was due to "cross winds and strong winds" in Rhodes and so was an extraordinary circumstance for which no compensation could be made. Fair enough so far: but the fact that the delay had to be extended even longer in order for the crew to have their rest and that no other arrangements were made to get us to our destination more quickly seems to me to be the fault of EJ. Any views on this? Is it worth pursuing further? Thanks for any advice.0
