arathorn,
Did they cancel both flights?
When did they cancel the return flight?
How did you get there if they did not re route you? or did they just cancel the outbound flight? Please read Vaubans superb guide. To find it Google and then download 'vaubans guide'.0 -
Yes, they cancelled both outbound and inbound flights, could not find a reroute or alternative way of getting me to berlin (don't think the operator tried).
They cancelled both flights at 9.45pm Sunday as I was supposed to fly next day and return Friday.
They quoted unforeseen operational reasons, but didn't say what.
Thank you.Better to remain a silent fool than speak and remove all doubt.0 -

Well thats a first, J2 continue to break new ground and surprise!
Download and read 'Vaubans Guide' details just below here. Lots of info in there.
You can wait as long as you want to, but I would be sending a LBA/NBA to push this along. They will be happy if you were to give them more and more time, but don't play their game. Take control and tell them what you want and when.
They are not signatories to an ADR supplier so you may need to go down the MCOL route. If less confident use a NWNF solicitor, such as Bott & Co, do not use a NWNF claims assistance company as they are unregulated and can be lots of trouble.
You are on the right track and seem to have a good grasp of the regs so I would suggest going down the DIY and MCOL route, it is a straightforward case and I very much doubt it would get to court.
Lots of help here when you need it too.
Good luck. Please read Vaubans superb guide. To find it Google and then download 'vaubans guide'.0 -

@Tyzap, downloaded the guide, steadily going through it. Thank you again.Better to remain a silent fool than speak and remove all doubt.0 -
Hi all
I haven't posted for a while, so please be gentle with me
I claimed against Jet2 at the start of august for a delayed flight and recently received a cheque which, by some accounts I've read, is good going.
The reason i am posting is because the amount doesn't seem right. I've lost the cover letter so please bear with me.
Flight was LS887 for 2 people on 15 July 2018 from Manchester Prague and the delay was over 3 hours.
I have claimed 400 Euro each but the cheque that arrived was only for £444 and the letter stated it was for both of us.
I know the exchange rate is poor, but not THAT poor!
Can anyone advise if this seems right and what, if anything, I can/should do next? The cheque has not yet been banked.
Thanks in advance0 -
Hi reilly76,
It's a relatively short flight which falls into the 250 Euro category.
£444 works out at an exchange rate of €1.125 to the £.Please read Vaubans superb guide. To find it Google and then download 'vaubans guide'.0 -
I rummaged in the bin and found the letter which did say €250 each. If the distance calculator had told me the right distance, I would've put €250 in my letter rather than €400.
Hey ho, at least they gave the money to me without too many questions or hassle (had to send the complaint twice and they refused to contact me via email) unlike some poor folk on here.
Thanks again and good luck with everyone fighting for their compensation0 -

Well done reilly, glad it wasn’t too much hassle for you, hey why not book another flight with your compo
I think I’ve got quite a bit to catch up on, but I’m back home in the J2 thread where I belong.
Thanks to all the forum members, that have stepped up support for the Jet2 thread during my unfortunate absence, so come on Jet2 let’s see you delay any more passengers - if you dare!
Cheers,

Hi,
I have looked through the thread to see if anyone else has claimed for this flight but haven't been able to see it listed.
I have claimed via their online form. I had a letter back on the 14th September stating that they had received my complaint and were looking into it, but that we were in a queue.
Can anyone advise how long I should leave it before contacting them again and what the best way is for me to contact them?
Or should I escalate it because I haven't heard from them?
Flight delay was due to technical fault with the plane, they tried to get an alternative from the fleet but this also had a technical fault. We had to wait for a plane to land from somewhere else that had finished its flying for the day before we were able to fly out. Our delay was just over 7hr 30mins.
