I too was delayed on the Alicante to Leeds.
Mine was on August 20th - flight LS272.
I sent my letter off by recorded delivery the very next day. Got a standard reply two weeks later. Gave them one week more and sent a letter before action, again recorded delivery.
I have pestered them so much by calling at least every two days.
Today's 'customer service' rep told me "I'm not allowed to say too much but I can see it has been settled and something will be with you in the next two or three days".
So sounds like I'm getting paid out less than eight weeks from the flight, which isn't bad going?
What number did you call to chase it up? I wasn't aware it was possible to chase these claims up by calling them to be honest...0 -

Antalya AYT to London Stansted STN
Departs: Sat 06 Oct 2018 at 22:35
Arrives: Sun 07 Oct 2018 at 00:55
In the air: 4 hrs 20 mins
Flight: LS1466
First the flight was delayed from Antalya and took off 23:55
Secondly half way through the flight we were told the Stansted airport is closed and flight is diverted to Birmingham
We landed at Birmingham airport about 01:55
Jet2 made arrangements for all passengers coaches/taxis to take them from Birmingham to Stanstead airport and gave us lunch packs
We had one disabled person wheelchair user hence we were offered a Taxi, the Taxi were advised by Jet2 to take us home (Forest Gate, E7 8NQ) but the taxi took us to Stansted airport instead (approx. 05:45 morning), the taxi driver said he was advised by his controller that Jet2 only pay if we drop passengers at Stansted airport and wont pay for dropping at their home address. But after we reached Stansted the taxi controller said to the driver its Ok for the driver to drop us home and the same taxi drop us home (approx. 06:45 morning).
Can I claim flight delayed/diverted compensation?
Also we have Gold travel insurance with coverwise but when I read the policy it says flight has to be delayed for more than 12 hours and will offer £20.
Thank you for reading and your expert advice.0 -
Hello All, a quick update. Apparently they only cancelled my outbound, couldn't reroute so they took it as I have cancelled the return flight. In the meantime they have sent me my compensation for the outbound.
Does anyone know if I have any claim to fight for the return flight I couldn't use as they couldn't fly me to it.
The wording on their letter is as follows.
"However, upon further investigation, our records show that the flight was not cancelled by ourselves and therefore, no compensation would be payable for this flight pursuant to the EC Regulation 261/2004."
Thanks in advance.

Hi KuKoo,
It seems that due to the delay departing Antalya, your flight was not allowed to land at Stansted and so diverted to Birmingham. No other flights diverted.
You are due EU261 compensation. You could double check this by putting your flight details into a couple of online flight delay calculators such as this one at Bott & Co...
https://www.bottonline.co.uk/flight-delay-compensation/calculator
The previous week, it was the Thomas Cook flight from the same resort which had to divert to Birmingham due to a delay departing.
I assume that Stansted Airport closes at about 12.30am or possibly 1am. You will need to look this up.
Good luck. Please read Vaubans superb guide. To find it Google and then download 'vaubans guide'.0 -
Further to the flight from Kos to Stansted via Cologne, Bott+co said because it had air traffic control involved it would count as exceptional circumstances and so they won't take it further.Hi Sam
I was on this flight too and just received my refusal due to exceptional circumstances letter from them. I have signed up to bott + co to take this further. I'll let you know how it goes.
Cheers
