Do you mean £25 or Euro admin fee, not 25%, otherwise your sums don't add up ;)
I guess you have to look at this way -
    1. the court awarded interest, which alot of LiPs never get, so thats one in the eye for Jet2.
    2. You didn't have to spend hours/days on your case, research, write ups, copying etc.
    3. You didn't have to cough up for court fees in advance, with a small risk of losing them.

Bott and Co would only ever make more money on my case than I.

As JPears says, they are the one's who are doing the Donkey Work, I fully accept that and would be happy with my £1100.00 award.

In fact the numbers have now altered... Bott and Co will make an EXTRA 18 Months worth of Interest on my calculations which I did January 2014.

You must remember Bott and Co are not a charitable organisation who are doing this out of the goodness of their hearts, they are doing this to make money... They sent me their T&C's, I read them, I accepted them.

    Good For Them.
  • Does anyone have experience of using Pickwicks NWNF solicitors for delay claims against JET2?

TOMMYM just have a go yourself by following the guide by Vauban. It is easy and now Jet2 are paying up without much resistance you will be able to keep 100% of the claim without the hassle experienced by previous claimants. The solicitors are all out to make money from you so give it a try, it is really not that difficult.

Thank you JPears for pointing out my slight slip re Botts admin. charge. You're right of course. I should have typed 25€ per person.
Must have been getting a bit "number blind".
Of course I realise that Bott have saved me a lot of letter writing and tussling with Jet2, for which I am grateful.
Obviously they are not a charity and I fully accept that they are a profit making organisation. It just surprised me a little that they ended up with a larger share of the payment than we did.
One thing's for sure, thanks to the battles being won by Bott and similar companies, it may now become easier for individuals to fight their own cases.

    Thats the pay off.
It is not uncommon. Most medical negligence cases, the legal team get far more than the victim.

Got an email from Bott & Co to say Jet2 paying us out, after 3 years of waiting!
    Happy days
  • Our flight in March 15 from Benidorm was delayed by 3.5 hrs. Our later flight had not loaded any baggage, so had to wait at Glasgow Airport for a further hour for luggage. By using MSE template in letter form, we asked for compensation, as we were delayed in collecting our dog from the kennels. I thought we might get a money off voucher code for our next holiday, but we ended up getting €400 each. No lawyers, just MSE. Boarding Cards are ESSENTIAL when making a claim.

Congratulations on your success. Boarding Cards are NOT ESSENTIAL though, you don't need them to claim against Jet2. You should have proof of booking though and the relevant flight details.

    Cheers,

  • Friends of ours, on the exact same flight were refused compensation, because they never had their boarding passes. When you contact Jet 2, they ask for : Booking number: Lead Passenger: Flight number & Boarding card. I photocopied the lot & posted. If your going to do it.......Do it right!!!!
