Sorry have not been here for a long time.
    Flight to Faro from LBA,
We were on the runway about to take off, when the captain announced there was a problem and took us back to the stand.
We waited on the plane for an hour whilst the problem was fixed, Pilot then revved the engines.
We were then asked to disembark and collect our luggage as if we had just landed, and check in again.
They put two planes on and we arrived in Faro about 5 hours late.
Wrote to CAA and Jet2 ,extraordinary circumstance was that old chestnut Anti-Ice valve fault..
In view of the recent court ruling is this no longer an extraordinary circumstance .
Our flight was the first flight from Leeds that morning so the aircraft had come in the night before,
surely the fault should have been discovered by the previous crew?
Can you post a link to your "sticky" with the relevant info.

Finally I understand Jet2 operate an older fleet of aircraft and they have at least 2 aircraft on standby because they expect to encounter
    these delays
Ooh Paulsyork, careful with that 1st sentnce, Jet2 don't like you talking about the age of their aircraft.
    2nd sentance? Unlikely......

I know exactly how old jet2 fleet is paulsyorks, which is why they don't like you talking about it.
My kids (at Uni) won't fly jet2 as they now know the majority of the fleet were flying well before they were born....

paulsyorks (and others) .... the more accurate listings are on Jethro rather than planespotter due to the planespotter bias towards the aviation industry ..... see here for individual fleets plus planes on order > http://www.jethros.org.uk/fleets/fleets.htm

This is the latest reply ,not sure if they have set up a new department to deal with this ,as Dart group have apparently set aside £17 million.
Or it could be attempt at time wasting.
