......and for once the Supreme Court delivered their decision early, wasn't due for a week or so, the news caught me by surprise, but what fantastic news this is.....

I don't think she could ? JP's case was heard and we all know it went the wrong way:mad:

I've just emailed Jet2's solicitors asking for their position with relation to my 'stayed' case. I'll update as soon as I get a reply.

I just hope that a common sense approach will now be taken to 'stayed' cases. Surely continuing the fight would appear futile.

  • I don't think many have managed to win a case so far against Jet2 but we are in the proud position of succeeding (at Court) in THREE separate claims - and we've been paid out for all 3 of them!!!

And we're not planning on giving anything back...

Our successes definitely had something to do with the help that we got from this forum, from many hours of online research on my part and most importantly, the fact that my husband is a (now) retired solicitor and knew his way round the system!

Perhaps this would be a perfect time for him to set up a service for others!

Let's see, but I think the bottom may just have fallen out of this particular NWNF market ...

    UP YOURS JET2!
    :rotfl:

Just read my Inbox and gosh a nice surprise. I shall be contacting the Court eftsoons.

So.... Jet2 et al are a fine idea and have taken my family to places we would not otherwise have been able to afford over the years. They also employ people round here.

They now need to get their act together re replacement aircraft etc. If they offer flights instead of cash I'm inclined to accept.

Ironically, if they offered you a flight as compensation, and the flight was then seriously delayed, you wouldn't be covered by the Regulation!

(This actually happened with one couple who won a competition with another airline, but when the flight failed and they couldn't return home, the airline refused to put them up in an hotel as they had not paid for a ticket!)

The money should be yours very shortly I reckon ...

Incidentally: still no comment from Jet2? Suggests that they weren't anticipating this outcome if they're still struggling for something to say.
