J 88, can I suggest, if you haven't already done so to Download Vauban's most superb and informative guide and also download and read through regulation 261/2004. You really need to get your head around the regulation and the useful info in Vauban's guide if you are going to progress this.
Then come back for further help.If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide

Hi, I hope I'm in the right place as my query is regarding a Ryanair claim, though it's more about ADR I guess.
My situation is that I have had a final determination from ADR in my favour (well they rejected my compensation claim but ruled that Ryanair had to pay expenses for flights and hotel due to their cancelation of our flight). Ryanair had 28 days to pay... except they haven't. The 28 days was up in mid October. Since then I have found ADR almost impossible to get hold of, they don't answer the phone, don't respond to message on the portal and the only response I've had is via twitter where they said they would get someone to contact the escalation team, but that was over a week ago and I've heard nothing.
I just wondered if anyone else has experienced similar with Ryanair not paying and ADR not seeming to do anything about it? I'm not really sure what to do next.0 -
What was the reason your flight was cancelled?
I would write a letter of complaint to both the ADR and the CAA (if your flight originated in UK)
Also send your claim again to Ryanair marked as an NBA/LBA with 14 days to pay. This then leaves you free to start the ESCP running. If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide

Hi, thanks for replying.
Our flight was cancelled in May due to the lightning strike at Stansted, we were not due compensation as it was out of their control (although our flight wasn't until 11pm so there may be an argument that they should have got themselves sorted by then as the refueling system was back up around 8.30am but I haven't pushed that).
As Ryanair couldn't offer us an alternative flight home (at all, the next few days were full and then the route stopped so there was literally no Ryanair alternative) we ended up having to stay 2 extra nights, take a taxi to an airport 2 hours away, and pay for new flights which is what Aviation ADR have said Ryanair is liable for.
Excuse my ignorance but I'm new to this, what does NBA/LBA stand for?0 -

Thanks, will see if I can find it now.0

I’m really sorry but I can’t find the information guide mentioned. I can find lots of references to it from the search function but not the guide itself. Can anyone post a link or point me in the direction of where I might find it please?
Also, if anyone else has had trouble with Ryanair not paying out after they’ve been instructed to I’d be interested to hear what happened. Thanks.0 -

Do you need a boarding pass in order to claim, and if you lost the one from the flight is there any way to get a new one?0
-
No you don't. The boarding pass is simply evidence that you were on the flight but would only be relevant if the airline denied it. Of course, some airlines ask for a boarding pass simply to place an obstacle in your way.0
