    I Iron,

    1st, download Vauban's superb guide.
2nd Submit a claim for compensation due the cancellation (unless due to an EC, such as ATC issues, bad weather affecting your flight etc) at 250Euros per person (including kids)
3rd Submit a claim for your overnight accomadation, food & drink (excl. alcohol) and your Vueling flights.
The claim for expenses and compensation are usually dealt with separately.
Have you applied for a refund of the cancelled flight? If not then I wouldn't at this stage as BA may try to wriggle out of responsibility/liabilty if you do.
If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide

    The alleged Ringleader.........

Thank you for your quick and helpful replies, really appreciated.

Will do the above just now, yet to apply for a refund for the cancelled flight, so will hold off for the time being.
  • Hi all,

    Quick one..

End of June we had a BA flight cancelled back from Milan Linate to London City. BA offered a flight next day from Linate to Heathrow!

    Anyway since then:

    a) On Resolver I have had a reply back from BA offering 250 EUR each...cool

    b) I spent 160 EUR on overnight hotel and food, is that dealt with separately and will be paid on top?

    Thanks...
  • Yes, they should have put you up in a hotel if you paid it yourself claim it back also any meals you had minus alcohol. How did you get from Heathrow back to London city where I assume your car was. You can also claim that back also.
  • Hi all

Does anyone know how long the wait is for BA to respond to completing the form on the website for delays?

    thanks

I would give them a nudge if it has been over a month.
  • I’ve been waiting 32 days now for a reply (after the initial auto reply with a reference number on) sent them a message on twitter and got told they deal in date order - yet I know someone else who complained the same day about our flight being cancelled and being transported by bus from Heathrow to Manchester had a reply early last week offering them an amount (was lower than it should be)

Any idea what is the best thing to do next? I’ve read the guide and am still confused - do I send a letter now giving them 14 days to reply? Loathe to use a claim service as they take such a big cut. Thanks

    Hi Choccyface,

Take everything the airlines tell you with a pinch of salt, where the EU261 regulations are concerned.

Try phoning them in the afternoon, when it is less busy, they may sort it out for you there and then.

Please download and read Vaubans guide, details just below here, and if you get no joy you can send them a LBA or ask BA for a deadlock letter and then refer your case to CEDR, the ADR company.

    Good luck.

Do you by chance have a number for them? Like Choccyface, been waiting a while with no response.

There are a few to be found here, depending on the reason for your call.
