Firstly was your flight from GLA Via LHR to ARN all on one ticket. If yes the distance is measured from A TO B TO C almost 2000km What was the reason why you missed our connection at LHW
    Hi Justice,
You may need to double check the regs on this because, if I remember correctly, you use the 'great circle route' website where you enter the departure and final arrival points, thus A to C.

hi, I'm just trying to understand if i can apply for this compensation or not...a bit confused...

London to Venice return, 3 nights booked as flight and hotel package with BA Holidays

    originally booked BA2582 on 5/07, 07.35, returning BA2589 on 08/07 22.30

was told at 4.30pm on 4/07 that flight for the 5th had been cancelled due to French ATC strike AND lack of ground staff at Venice to accept the flight. managed to rebook flights to...

BA0578 on 6/07 9am, returning BA 2589 on 9/07 21.45 which i was happy with as although we left from heathrow and returned to gatwick, i thought the earlier flight would be ok with regards to getting a train back into london

BA2589 delayed by 178 minutes according to the flightstats website although i dispute this tbh as the time it says flight ended etc, the plane didn't reach the terminal for another 15 minutes or so. We were given a voucher for a meal in venice airport. Reason given for delay was previous flight cancelled, so no plane for us, we had to wait for another flight to come into venice and be turned around so we could use that plane to get home. issues compounded by lack of baggage handles at venice (again) and crew therefore went over there hours. basically a few issues all a knock on effect.

I'm annoyed as the flight was delayed earlier in the day but i had no notification until we reached the airport, i.e. there was no need to get to the airport so early and obviously annoyed it was delayed by 3 hours or so. Also more importantly, because we landed at 2am it took us 2 hours to get into london by train. If we had landed on time then public transport would have been more frequent which is what i was expecting. In short can i claim?

thanks for any help and advice

flightstats does show both times. Landing time was shows as the runway time 1:42am and then it took a further 11 minutes to get to the gate which took it to 178mins late. A check on one of the NWNF sites seem to agree that no compensation is due for that flight

Bott online shows you can claim compensation for your first cancelled flight on 5th despite the ATC.
Your delayed return flight is, as you say a 178 minute delay, landing 01:42 and getting to gate at 01:53. If you took this to court you may well struggle to prove a full 3 hour delay. Unless you can get a verfied doors open time from the airport, not the airline. Although, again Botts show you are due compoensation. Might be worth handing claims over to them since it looks borderline...

Ticket was booked Manch - LHR - Denver.

Flight was delayed by 58mins into LHR.

Although we were at the gate (LHR) 20mins before departure, we were denied boarding and told we'd been bumped off.

At customer service desk, we were told, we'd been booked on a flight to Seattle an hour later but no one told us. By this time it was too late for that and flight arranged 24hrs later.

I presume we have a claim?

    Hi northwest1965,

    It certainly sounds like it.

Have a read of Vaubans great guide (Google it and download) and then get your claim in to BA.

Did you get looked after by BA during the 24 hour wait? i.e hotel and meals etc.

    Good luck.

    Claim has already gone in:)

BA paid for hotel and meals. No refreshments included. Put in a claim for these

    Hi,

    Well done, that was quick.

None alcoholic refreshments should have been included.

    Good luck.
