Absolutely! You most definitely need to download and read Vauban’s excellent guide....0

Thank you I will take a look. Do I put all the passengers down even if one was a free child place when booked?0

You can’t claim for a child if you didn’t pay anything towards the cost of their flight. If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide

Airlines will normally say free child flight but then charge around £20 as an admin fee. If that happened to you your child will be due compensation like everyone else.0

Good to see you won. I am also waiting for CEDR decision regarding crew flight time limitations. How are you expecting payment? Have they asked for bank details or sending a cheque?
Presume will be contacted in 20 days.
If no contact I will ask CEDR to chase.
Award was €1200, converted at BoE rate as 1st June. Expecting bank transfer or cheque option.
Not accepting vouchers as wasn’t in the CEDR judgement0 -
Hi All,
New poster so hopefully in the right thread on this forum - booked an all inclusive holiday to Costa Rica through First Choice. Holiday itself went fine and no issues with the outbound flight and TUI package provided through stay.
However, I was supposed to return home on flight TOM077 on 28/05/18 from Liberia to Gatwick. This flight was cancelled due to a technical fault (broken windscreen wiper!) with the inbound aircraft coming from the United Kingdom (TOM076) and that has been confirmed via a letter from the TUI Customer Operations Team handed out when I eventually arrived home on 30/05/18. Have screenshotted tweets as well from TUI which confirm the plane technical issues.
As per the EU 261/2004 Regulations, I'm seeking from them 600 Euros per passenger (for flights of more than 3,500km between an EU and non-EU airport, delayed by at least four hours - hopefully got that right!)
I assumed that as I booked through First Choice, I needed to apply for this claim through their website. I filled out the claim form and got an automated response from a Thomson email address (from the After Travel Support Team). This has the standard aim to get back within 56 days reply.
I've had no response after 21 days and rang up First Choice (might sound impatient but aware how unresponsive they could be!) and raised a complaint, which will get the ball rolling in terms of action I've taken.
My question would be if I continue to get no response/or they dispute claim would be it be best to go through CEDR? From reading the replies on here that can work but can be a long process in itself. Or would it be best to jump to Small Claims court action to get a resolve? I'm aware that none of this will be a quick fix but will try not give them the opportunity to mess me around, like they seem to with many!
Any views would be appreciated.0 -
You need to claim from the operating airline, presumably TUI airways (was Thomson), not 1st choice, a holiday operator.
Presumably 1st choice arranged and paid fro the additional accomadation and food/drink during your extended stay?
Be prepared for resistance, delays obfuscation and misinformation all the way.If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide

Thanks - with regards to First Choice, they are the tour operator itself with their parent company being TUI Group so I assumed that the fact that I booked through them, they have a flight delay claim form on their website and then the automated response was from @Thomson email address etc then this would still be looked at. The flight was operated by TUI, this is who the holiday reps were working for at the hotel and they were who I arranged excursions during the holiday.
TUI paid up on all the extra night hotel stuff. I don't regularly go on all inclusive packages hence the slight confusion as to which exact party to chase money off.
I'm prepared for a fight don't worry!!0 -
