I know that's how it should work in theory but i'm just concerned based on others experiences they will just group both into the one so they can wriggle out of it.
Is it simply my word against there's as it stands
No not at all, the facts of the case are there. They can try to bluff their way out of paying compensation, and usually do, but when push comes shove, i.e a court hearing if necessary, they must be truthful about the facts.
Please read Vaubans great guide, see below for details.
Give them time to reply to you and see what they say, if there is a denial you have the option of ADR or MCOL.
Good luck. Please read Vaubans superb guide. To find it Google and then download 'vaubans guide'.0 -
Just had a quick check on twitter and someone had asked tui what the issue was on the day and why there was an initial delay. They replied stating it was a "reactionary delay" and when questioned on compensation they provided an email address.
Reactionary delays seem to be:
Codes used for reactionary reasons or Miscellaneous.
91 (RL): Passenger or Load Connection, awaiting load or passengers from another flight. Protection of stranded passengers onto a new flight.
92 (RT): Through Check-in error, passenger and baggage
93 (RA): Aircraft rotation, late arrival of aircraft from another flight or previous sector
94 (RS): Cabin crew rotation
95 (RC): Crew rotation, awaiting crew from another flight (flight deck or entire crew)
96 (RO): Operations control, rerouting, diversion, consolidation, aircraft change for reasons other than technical
I've taken screenshots of the Twitter chat for backup if needed so fingers crossed now. They will surely be hard pushed to argue any weather issues now at least.0 -
Hi everyone,
looking for some advice. We were delayed for over 8 hours last week on our holiday. Flying from Gatwick to Faro. Arrival time was supposed to be 8.25am. We arrived (doors open) at 16.40.
We boarded the plane and was told there was a fault with the plane, after an hour or so they said it could not be fixed and sending a replacement aircraft in our place. They said it was due to a fault heated window.
Now would i be able to claim anything back for this?
I've seen a few posts about Bott&Co so put in my details and it confirms entitled to 400 (euro) per passenger. There are 4 paying seats so 1600.0 -
Firstly google and download "Vaubans guide" everything you need to know is in there. Seems a pretty straightforward case.0

Hi BB, no that is regarded as a tech issue (established in law by the Huzar case)
Usually ECs are restricted to (but not exclusively) weather affecting flight directly, air traffic control, terrorism or security issues. If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide

Small claims court the way to go. Follow the advice on the CAA website.0 -
Probably best to write to Simon Calder, the travel editor at the Independent. He likes to name and shame occasionally if the case is newsworthy. Please read Vaubans superb guide. To find it Google and then download 'vaubans guide'.0

Hi Caz3121
Flight info:
Airline: TUI Airways
Flight number: TOM2700
Departure airport: Manchester International Airport, MAN
Scheduled departure time: Sun 27/08/17 9:15
Arrival airport: Larnaca Airport, LCA
I can find landing time but not door opening time. Any idea how I can find this info ? Thinking the airport must record it I guess but can't see anyone referring to that anywhere.0
