Hi all and thanks in advance for reading this.
TOM878 Gatwick to Boa Vista (Cape Verde) 8:05am 3/1/17 took off as usual but turned around half way due to (quote from pilot) "a technical problem with a back up system that is of no worry or concern and we could carry on but Thomson have told me to turn around". Flight took off next day at scheduled time. Very badly treated at Gatwick. No Tui staff. Hilton Hotel (no, not good). Fed kids food that evening. Question, if we took off but arrived 24 hours late because we turned back, but could have gone on, can I claim.0 -
Seems a claim to me download and read Vaubans guide possibly €600 per person.
Put your flight details into EuClaim and Bottonline and see what they say.0 -
Finally got payment from Thomsons by BACS today. Not quite within the time frame of the CEDR intervention, after the initial 20 days was up. Took a couple of more badgering emails and the result is now funds in the bank
What a palava!!!

I have submitted a claim through CEDR and Thomson have not supplied their defence within the 10 day period.CEDR now say the case is being allocated an adjuticator. Can anyone shed any light for me on what is likely to happen next?
thanks0 -
The adjudicator will look at the evidence. If Thomson haven't submitted a defence, the claim will be approved and Thomson notified that they must pay up. It still takes time though, even though 20 working days is stipulated.0

Thanks Marksfish. Yeah, its a long, drawn out process but will hopefully be worth it in the end.0

I'm pretty sure this is now the quickest way of getting any compensation that you are due.
Going via the courts takes many months, cost quite a bit more and the outcome can be uncertain, although it has got much better in recent times. Most judges now seem to be reading from the same hymn sheet.
Good luck. Please read Vaubans superb guide. To find it Google and then download 'vaubans guide'.0 -
Hi, I am trying to claim back from Thomson for 5 delayed flight (flights were delayed for over 10 hours), I emailed them through this website and after escalating several times they kept ignoring me, I have then escalated to CEDR, With CEDR acting on my behalf Thompson have emailed me today and said it is now outside of the 6 years I have to claim, But the original emails were started before the 6 years period was up, does this allow me to still claim because the case was raised less that 6 years after the flight delay, thanks0

Sorry too late - 6 year deadline relates to a court claim - they have delayed so as not to pay you and now there is nothing you can do about it - others be warned!0
