Thats what I paid. It doesnt mention cost per adult or the free child place on there but it does mention the infant fee of 35 and the cost to allocate seats for the other 3 of us.

I suggest you wait till you've received the cheque and then pursue your further claim. That will narrow down the issue

Thanks thats a great help as I wasnt sure if I received and cashed the cheque if I tried to pursue it further they would say get lost. Lol. From advice etc it seems I MAY be able to claim for the infant and child but I am just pursuing the one as she is the one who had an allocated seat.

Thanks again for all your help!

The CAA seem to agree with you:

    "Compensation for infants

The CAA view is that compensation is payable at the same rate as that of adults for infants on an infant fare."

Thanks! When he told me they wouldnt pay for the infant I accepted it as I thought that was right info because he didnt have a seat. Should I be good and ler them run with that. Lol. As long as they compensate for the child seat.

If the cheque arrives and mentions something along the lines of "in full and final settlement" it is wise to keep it, don't bank it but write back, with a covering letter outlining your arguement that you accept it as part payment of the total due to you.

This is the reply I received

    Dear Mrs Green

    !

I have checked with my manager who confirms that although you paid extra to sit together this does not affect the fact that the child was classed as a free child place. Free child places do include an allocated seat. So therefore compensation is due just for the two adults. If you are not happy with this decision you are of course entitled to take it further. This will not affet the compensation due to you.
