To have persuaded Thomson to make a voluntary payment after this is an amazing achievement on your part. You have done brilliantly so enjoy your holiday and belt up.

The judge made his decision based on the evidence provided but not OUR evidence which we were not given the opportunity to present!
As I've previously said, our cancer consultants have told us to avoid all stresses as much as we can. (I've had 3 cancer ops and my husband has had 2 cancer ops).
With the additional cost involved to appeal and also people telling us on this Forum to give our claim up we decided to follow everybodies advice.
I say now that your rude remark "belt up" is not acceptable and I now request you not to respond to any of my posts in the future. Although I somehow think I won't bother with this forum in future anyway. Good bye.0 -

That was my reading of it too. But regardless I think bigmama1 is right to leave this be now - as it is obviously causing some stress.
Remember people on this forum give their advice and opinion freely, and sometimes it will be unwelcome (as I suspect it is in this case - even though it's a great result in the end). But the moment we start telling people what they want to hear, rather than the truth of how we see it, is when this place loses its usefulness, IMHO.
Onwards and upwards (with seat belts on, of course)!0 -
After over 2 years of futile attempts for compensation from Thomson's, I started a County Court Claim in January 2014. After another 12 months of providing information, etc. to the Court, I attended a Disposal Hearing at the end of January 2015 and was awarded 1800 Euros compensation plus 8% interest backdated to 1st November 2011,plus my court fees and £50 for acting for myself in the court proceedings. Last week I received a cheque for just under £1900 for a 24 hour delay for me, my wife and our son, returning from Florida on 30th October 2011.
Thomson's made the whole process very difficult and, at one point, refused to reply to my correspondence. I think they hope you will run out of steam before a conclusion is reached. Having said that, it was only the Customer Services and the Legal Department that I had issues with. We have flown with them on the same route a few times since and will do so again (subject to price!).0 -
Well done Harleyman! Great result.0

Hi im looking for some advise please. Flew from Manchester to Cuba on 22/09/2010. We were delayed by about 45 mins then flew as far as Irish Sea then turned back because of a technical fault (broken lightbulb) fire engines waiting for us lol . Taken off plane n boarded another. all in delayed for around 4ish hours! The flight is showing on flight stats as cancelled so are we able to claim? Please advise . Im new to this.0

Oh, it's not in dispute... that's exactly the game plan!
Well done for not falling into the trap! :T:T:T0 -

Good luck to those still waiting, 'nil desperandum'
Pleased to announce that my son got his compensation for the delay he'd encountered on the return from Mexico for his honeymoon in June 2013. I'd been persisting and pestering (on his behalf) along with my two claims, and his was the last one of the three to be 'approved' by the Thomson Flight Delay Committee.
It seems that knock-on delays are indeed valid when push-comes- to-shove with raising and pursuing a claim, especially as his was a delay from 3 flights previously! How could they refuse..........??!!
Keep at it with your claims, and good luck :beer:
A final thanks to all those guys and gals who have put so much time and effort into providing honest, direct and valuable information on here, especially those regulars like Centipede 100, Mark2Spark, and Vauban. Thanks guys!0
