I wrote two weeks ago to Thomson for a 6 hour delay to Holguin back in October 2012. Today received a cheque for £1800 for four people. Thought I was going to have to fight but they paid up. I didn't have any boarding cards just my tickets and also stated that they had refunded me money for the loss of premium seats so they obviously knew I was on the flight. So very happy.0

I've been chasing my claim for 2 years now.
Just out of interest has anyone received a payment for flight TOM232, 24 July 2011, Birmingham to Sharm El Sheikh, delayed 4hrs 50mins?
Many thanks 😊0 -
Well done and congratulations to all who received their compensation payments today, and thanks for letting everyone know.
I'm sure it will give others a little extra encouragement to pursue their own claims. Please read Vaubans superb guide. To find it Google and then download 'vaubans guide'.0 -
Seems like from the last few posters it has taken about 2 years for Thomsons to finally pay up...
Finally, after my own 2 year battle I've come home to a cheque for £901.32 to cover the 2 of us after our delay from Manchester to Varadero almost two years to the day after our holiday.
With the car in for repair today and a Route66 trip in 100 days it certainly was a welcome surprise! Was expecting to have to fight them in court. Now only if BA would hurry up with my other claim...!0 -
Fantastic result. Submitted claim to Thomson after disappointing start to our Christmas 2014 Lapland break on our 3 hour + delayed Gatwick Kitilia flight on 24th December and today they have paid out £1,246.32.
Thankyou for the proforma letter and guidance.0 -

Nope....I posted my first letter in November 2014 and my NBA letter around January 2015, so a result in under 4 months for me, I bet it's actually under 3 months if I add up the dates.
My flight was Feb 2010.0 -
I submitted a post a few days ago (6449) and I said that the claims department at Thomsons were waiting on a report from their engineering dept. I have just remembered this. We were due to fly home from a Thomsons cruise on the Dreamliner. It developed a fault in UK before take off and had to be replaced with a Boeing 777 to bring out cruise passengers that were replacing us, however, although that flight was only 1-2 hours late in landing in Barbados, the crew on the ground in Barbados was a Dreamliner crew and they could not fly a 777 which had the effect that the crew that brought out the plane had to fly it back to the UK and that could only be done after the required rest period which resulted in a 19 hour delay. Does
anyone think I have a claim for compensation. By the way, we also missed our flight to Edinburgh and had to pay for another plus a nights stay in Gatwick.0 -

Hi Ferryboy,
111KAB, did answer your post and point you to Vaubans guide, so I would assume you know the answer to your above question, the answer would appear to be yes.
So the next part of 111KABs advice was to issue NBA, then DIY or NWNF, all that still stands, it would appear you have a claim, but you'll need to read through the guide and work it all out for yourself, only you can decide if you want to pursue compensation and if you belive you are due any under EC261/2004.
Cheers,
