Hi,
Looking for a bit of advice please. I wrote to Thomson, using template letters, in November and December 2014 regarding return flight from Turkey to Manchester in July 2010 that was delayed for 10 hours. No reply to either letter. I don't have any receipts/boarding cards etc. What's my next step?0 -

Hi peggysue999,
Sounds like you might have a claim, what was the cause of the delay? You're next step is to read Vaubans guide

Probably not with Thomson, you stand a reasonable chance on your own, if you're willing to put some effort in, read Vaubans guide.
Sorry ~ I don't know the address but it should be in this thread, somewhere near the top of this page, although beware you need the Thomson Airways address, not Thomson Holidays, not 100% sure it's the same....After reading PtL Vaubans Guide , please don't desert us, hang around and help others!

My timeline
October 2012 claim made for flight TOM5214 on 28th July 2009 from London Luton to Zakynthos. Further information asked for and provided.
March 2013 claim rejected under the "two year" rule
March 2013 challenged the rejection.
April 2013 received a "final" rejection.
April 2013 complained to the CAA
March 2014 received a hand wringing, sorry can't help with these nasty big bad airlines
November 2014 following Huzar and Dawson challenged the rejection again.
December 2014 no response to November letter so chased again
January 2014 no response to November letter so chased again through Twitter
Today - received a cheque in the post0 -
Hi all
I have been pursuing Thomson for compensation for a 13 hour delay to my flight from Dominican Republic last August.
Today I had a rejection letter from Thomson that made the following points:
- their delay handling logs show the flight was delayed due to manufacturing defects
- the European Commission states that 'discovery of a hidden manufacturing defect by the air carrier (this is often noted by unusual failure of the same aircraft part)' would be considered extraordinary circumstances
Does anyone have any advice on where I should go from here? Is it worth pursuing with the CAA or is Thomson correct in what they say?
Many thanks

No, and No.
Read Vauban's guide then start procedings or go to NWNF firm. Or walk away. ( which is what Thomson ant)If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide

CAA are as useful as chocolate tea pot.
Court (or at least make sure you sound like you really mean it) or walk, your choice.0 -
Thanks guys.
I'm up for the challenge of taking this to court, if that's necessary, so are you able to advise me what the next steps of this would be? Do I tell Thomson that's what I'm gonna do and hope they blink first, or wait until they are informed of this via a legal process?0 -

Read Vauban's excellent guide, that will help you with what to do next.
