Flight delay and cancellation compensation, Thomas Cook ONLY
Comments

I would just like to say thanks for the help and advice in persuing a compensation claim for a flight delay. I originally used your template letter as you described.
After a couple of knock backs and denials, I have just been paid out £2300. Persistance was the key.
I was delayed more than 3 hours on a flight back in 2010 from Turkey to Manchester. There was 8 of us travelling so I am going to split the money.
Once agin, many thanks.

I think I get more annoyed that the 'dipping into MSE last year', doesn't include spotting that the voucher question has come up before.
It must be a one toe dip :rotfl:0 -
So after taking my case to a nwnf company in September 2013, after being fobbed off by Thomas Cook with the standard reply (twice), eventually my case was stayed awaiting Huzar decision as were many more.
We had a nearly 5 hour delay sitting on the plane on the tarmac at Dalaman airport with no air con, no water provided in the middle of July due to two technical faults on the plane.
This week i've finally had an offer via Weightmans, but need to produce my original booking invoice to prove all 3 of us paid full fare, which we did, i kept all the paperwork including the invoice and the boarding cards, so no problem there and I've already forwarded the original booking invoice to them.
Offered £1300 including interest and court costs (need to deduct the fee payable to NWNF company which is 20% plus VAT). In hindsight with the Huzar case I could probably have done it myself, but hindsight is a wonderful word
Thanks to everyone on here who offered advice
Good luck to everyone still fighting, my word of advice, which i read on here, keep all your paperwork, dont know if it makes it easier/harder but Weightmans have asked for it and i was able to provide it0 -

How does that matter?0 -
Just had an email from Thomas Cook admitting I am eligible for compensation for a delayed flight from Salzburg-Manchester of 8.5 hrs after using MSE template letter and advice. Thrilled with the first email stating I am successful...but the downside is it is in the form of a voucher!
I'm sure I don't have to accept this and I have emailed Thomas cook saying I want £180 in sterling. The wait begins again. Thomas Cook repeat throughout the email "full and final offer"......scare tactics or bullying people into accepting???0 -

Have a look at the last few posts above yours the voucher question has been asked daily for at least the last 12 months......After reading PtL Vaubans Guide , please don't desert us, hang around and help others!

I dont know for a fact why it matters, but that's what it states in the offer, i have the documentation so no issue for me.
I assume it matters if we had free child place and didnt pay for one of the flights or something similar, like i say i dont know but it matters not, for me, as I have document.0 -
i have just had confirmation that i will be getting £1180.00 as a voucher im over the moon really but i have just emailed back asking for the full amount to be payable to me by cheque as we dont plan on any holidays in the forseeable future lets see what i get back0
