  • Hi all, surprise surprise, despite TC claiming a manufacturing defect and refusing my claim, their actual court defence submitted makes no reference to this instead citing a steering link failure resulting in nose wheel damage whilst the plane was taxiing in Tunisia. This must have had quite a knock on to affect my flight from Greece the next day by my reckoning. I've read the fab guide but just wanted a few observations on this situation. By my reckoning clearly a technical fault but also operational fault given the ample time they had to source another plane... any advice greatly appreciated!

  • i have a claim in for the following.....thomas cook flight tcx 2412 to Sofia on 10.1.2015.
just wondered if anyone else had a claim in for the same flight and if they had any compo or info from tc yet?
  • Bad weather at Manchester delayed my flight, we boarded then it snowed. The runways were snowed in, after several hours we disembarked. We boarded the flight after a couple of hours and were told the runways were clear but we had to wait for the ice to be removed from the wings and that we were 15th in line for the procedure. After several more hours we were rd that the crew had run out of'flight.time and were unable to continue. We disembarked again and were taken to a hotel in Blackpool for the night we arrived 27 hours after our'original arrival time.
Would I be entitled to claim?

Most likely not. Though there is a legal argument to support your claim (that airlines need to make provision for when ECs finish and not get "timed out" by crew hours, etc) I can't see a judge buying it.

I have had a successful claim against Thomas Cook and awarded 250 Euros each for 4 = 1000 Euros which they converted to £780, which is fine, but we did not get cash but a voucher to use with Thomas Cook.
Can they do this i thought we would get cash back as no mention of credit voucher, which restricts us on choice.

Well I haven't been on for about a week, so it's quite a lot of reading to catch up on various threads, then I come on the TC thread and this is the 2nd post I read.
Anyone else think that the airlines post this so as to P people off from reading any further?
    Cos it's worked this time...

    Hi All,

Please could someone confirm for me please, just to make sure I have my sums right before I lodge my N1?

My claim is for 2 people at 600E each = 1200E

If I've done the currency calculator right (11th May 2009), I get it at 0.89 £ to the E.

    = £534.00 x 2
    = £1068

Fees would be £80 so claim for £1,148

I'm just not sure if I've done the calculator for the currency correct?!

I have contacted TC twice but they have sent me bog standard reply refusing compensation. I have also tried a flight compensation firm but they say they have no details of flight?????
